Now maybe I am alone in thinking this but maybe we all stop talking about hentai and perverted stuff.

Why do I think this? Because why I like this forum is that it is a friendly place that all types of people can talk on, not a closed circle of otaku's but a friendly vibrant community. Now talking about all this perverted stuff is going to put people off the forum who aren't into that stuff, hence destroying the best thing about this forum.

Maybe I am being unreasonable but I am finding the general discussion part (previously my favorite part) a little odd and find myself not wanting to post because of the pervert posts I don't want to post on the forum.

But, do you really think this community will be a friendly place after you force people to stop talking about hentai/perverted stuff? That itself will change it.

I fail to see the problem. It's not as though we are talking about how "sexy" it would be for the Gunslinger Girl cast to give us oral sex. Maybe you should stop watching PBS?

of course you are not alone in thinking this, there are plenty of people that dont like to talk about this kinda stuff, and even more thant want to forbid others from doing so...

Personally, I've never been dead set against it. Its just not really my thing. I don't mind it in normal circumstances (like sex scenes in rated R live action movies) but for the most part anime never has normal sex... its... hentai. I mean, I like sex as much as the next 25 year old guy but hentai is usually crazy, over the top nonsense that doesn't appeal to me at all. There seems to be no middle ground with anime, no rated R scenes if you will. If sex is in an anime, its crazy stupid and doesn't turn me on at all.

I say if people want to talk about it, good for them. Just don't bring it in to topics that don't need it and for the love of god don't post pics that most people don't really want to see. I'm rather new to this forum and am glad to say I haven't seen either of these two things happening, so thats cool.

It seems to me that most of these pointers are taken from the ISSUP thread, and therefore I don't really see the problem... Since the thread is specifically "Perverted". If you don't like it, don't go there, simple.

i havent decided yet what i'm going to do with that thread, but i tend to agree with dgsub. guys, don't even pretend like it's only that one thread :p i've locked other threads before that were a lot more ecchi/ridiculous - if one gets locked, another is opened.

the problem is, it's not all 18+ people on anime-planet... we have a ton of14-18 year olds running around. we don't cater to them (i never censor myself, etc) but at the same time, we also don't have a dedicated 18+ section so i can cover my ass for angry parents. and i don't plan on having a dedicated 18+ section - so where does that leave us? if any kid can open up a thread and get hentai pics (i dont know if there are any in that thread as i dont want to read it) that's a problem.

so yeah. might get locked eventually... i haven't decided.
