Workers: We need more money! We cannot pay for what we need with current wages! Unions (to politicians): The workers need more money! They cannot pay for what they need with current wages! Workers: Yeah! Politician: The workers will have more money! *a while later* Politician A: There's not enough money in circulation to support these new, higher wages. What shall we do? Politician B: Print more money. Politician A: Are you sure that's a good idea? Politician B: We need the support of the unions and the workers to stay in office; print more money. Politician A: If you say so... *a while later* Politician: Prices seem to have risen as the amount of money in circulation has increased. Unions: Prices have gone up, and the workers' wages are no longer sufficient. Unions (to workers): You need more money! You cannot pay for what you need with current wages! ... |
