the ti-89 doesnt stand a chance against the sheer awesomeness of the ti voyage 200 (92-series)
unfortunately for most problems having a numerical approximation wasnt exactly what they were looking for as answers... |

I'm watching the movie "Lucas" with Charlie Sheen. I like it, but I also find it a bit sad. It's a curious thing that I can feel the shame of a movie character - I could do without this variety of empathy.

Hey, Sandbar. I've read a few recently that were enjoyable. The Power of One: A Novel by Bryce Courtenary was excellent. It's a coming of age story about a boy who decides he's going to become the Welter Weight Champion of the World when he is around seven years old (something like that). He maintains his resolve and works toward that goal. I found it to be among the most inspirational stories I've ever read, so I recommend it if you're in need of something to read.
I've read quite a few novels this summer and fall, but the only other books that stood out were Toll of the Hounds and Haruki Murakami's works. I have now read everything Murakami has written, and, as a consequence, I have a great appreciation for his unique prose style and out-of-this-world characters. My favorite two are The Wind-up Bird Chronicles and Kafka on the Shore. The rest are wonderful, except for Hard-boiled Wonderland at the Edge of the World, which I found to be rather bland despite it's extraordinarily weird premise. If you get a chance, read his Autobiography about running - it's really fascinating. What about you? Read or see anything that made you say, "Wow!"? |

Wow, thanks man for those book recs. You're the best! :-)
My dad actually has that Bryce Courtnay book you mentioned, so I might borrow it off of him and check it out. I think I need some inspiration. btw, a while back you told me of a rec for a fantasy series of books if I liked the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. But I forgot, and since haven't found that post. Do you remember what it was? As for me, I haven't read anything in quite a looooooong while, and all I've been watching is anime. But I want to get back into reading again. EDIT: Oooh, nice site, ingrey! I've bookmarked it. I like how you can find users with similar tastes. Good find!
