LT: Why can't the US and Europe use the same freakin' paper size?! I'm not saying I need Europe to match me, I'd be happy to switch to A4.... but it's a pain when everything the people I work with from Europe send me doesn't fit in with all my other papers!

Standard US "Letter" size is 8.5 inches by 11 inches (216x279mm) A4 paper (it's actually more than European - I think most of the rest of the world uses this) is 210x297mm So if you have a binder or notebook that was purchased in the US, and you try sticking European paper in it, there's a fair amount that sticks out of the top (or bottom, depending on how you place it). So the ends get all torn up, etc., etc. I know, it sounds like such a stupid thing, but for some reason this issue seems to cause me a lot of grief! ![]() Edit: I guess on the flip side, if you tried putting US paper in a European binder, the side edges of the US paper would stick out and get all torn up :p |
