Default Antivirus for pendrive?

Does anyone know if there is an app that can be deployed onto a pendrive and protect it from getting infected with viruses? I imagine it would have to use U3 platform in order to work.

The idea is to create pendrive that won't transmit viruses with ease.

I don't know much about them Uriel, but some top links I found. Perhaps someone else knows.

You want real-time protection? No clue about that, unfortunately.

If not, I'd just go with the free version of Malwarebytes, because it's pretty small and pretty good.

Pendrives will be used to distribute an application. Since they will be used on many provate computers it would be reasonable to inoculate them. I don't wan't antivirus that will run from pen and scan PC. Rather I'm looking for a way to prevent pendrive becoming a vector.

From what I seen Clam antivirus gets describes as useless. Avast is pricey (15USD per pendrive). I'm considering passive protection - some way to inoculate pen drive against autorun viruses and such. It won't be 100% effective but should be enough.

Anyone know of reliable software that inoculates pendrives?

If you're using the pendrive just to distribute an application and you don't have the intention of putting stuff from other people's computer, then it'd be better if you just write protect it with USB Write Protector or another software like that.

Sadly it's not that easy - said app will have to write data to that USB drive. So it can't be write protected.
