Watching Gintama is better than a sugar rush. One new episode and I've already got several new choice for an avatar. So hard to decide which one to go with.

I ended up not watching anything on my list and Hyouka instead. I think I'm in love. The artwork is beautiful, the music is beautiful, and the plot is smart and interesting.

Easter eggs in anime are fun. Especially fourth wall breaking ones.
Like for a split second you can see a Shonen Jump magazine with a Sket Dance cover page in one episode of Sket Dance.

DAT: Sword Art Online is boring (or rather got boring fast). Who's responsible for it ending up in the Top 10? ._.

The problem with SAO is it does far too much telling and not enough showing. It relies on way to much exposition to flesh out the world of the game. The animation is pretty but it lacks any kind of tension or emotion. And the exposition itself is really dry most of the time. At least with Accel World the exposition was interesting even if that anime had many other problems. I think it's a pretty big failure to translate the light novels into a visual medium. It's not a terrible anime but it's not terribly interesting either.

What I read of the first light novel was like that too. IMHO the anime improved this aspect.

Well, that was easy.

Seriously though, if you like it that's great. I liked it too at first, but then it just started to drag and nothing really exciting seemed to happen :( It's rather unlikely I will continue watching SAO until they get a move on with the plot

So what you're saying is the anime has less of a poor writing job than its source material. That's a ringing endorsement of an adaptation if I've ever heard one.

Though they don't subtract from my enjoyment as much as they seem to his, kaiji has basically nailed most of my complaints with it.

Come on, BrainsBase! You've just decided to animate the delicious Shoujo Tonari No kaibutsu-kun!(thank you so much), so what would another, highly kickass one hurt?

Also, a D-frag anime done by Sunrise would hit the spot.
By "hit the spot" I mean "cause me to randomly hug people in the streets."
