There are some with definitive orders, some without. This is the best guide to Gundam I've come across: Gundam series guide

You should, however, ignore the personal opinions from the author, since there are devoted fans/haters for every single Gundam series :-P On this site, it looks like Gundam 00 *might* be a good place to start due to the rankings and the fact that you can just watch it without watching anything before it to know what is going on.

I have to say, so far, the dub for ef ~ a tale of memories is rather well done.
