Viewing order would be
Danger Zone TV (6 eps) Movie Danger Zone is kind of a prequel to the TV and movie. The main characters from the TV/Movie are not in Dangerzone. The drivers in Danger zone are "promoted" to CnC by the time of the movie, the other driver makes a guest apperance in the TV series and it makes a little more sense if you've seen the OVA, but you really won't miss out on anything if you skip it.

The movie is like a direct sequel sidestory thing (eX-Driver in America). Same cast as the series, but no real tie-ins to the main series.
I only say OVA for Danger Zone because that's what the copy I had downloaded was called. I suppose I don't really know if the series ever showed on TV, bad assumption on my part. The movie had come out more recently (and quite honestly I thought it sucked) I just really honestly suck at writing stuff ... I could ... take screenshots ....

well, its technically not a direct sequel unless there's an event discussed in the movie that's in the tv series. if it's just the same characters in both (in the same roles), but its a side story, it technically could be watched in either order usually. such as kenshin movie, it does take place chronologically around a certain point in teh tv series, whereas others have "side stories" that could be watched at any time... what do you think for this?
seriously, even if you wrote something REALLY halfass, i don't care. take 2 minutes or less and write whatever you can think, then i'll pm you with some questions and make it pretty :)... i don't know anyone else who has seen these so if you can spend minimal time wriitng ANYTHING it would be immensely helpful :D i'm waaayyy better/faster at editing now. |

Well technically you could watch the movie any time after the first episode, but not between episodes 5 and 6 and be fine, but I think it makes the most sense to watch it last. Also the last episode ends saying "to be continued in eX-D The Movie"
Well I'll see what I can do, no promises tho =p, promises just get me into trouble

is there a non spoiler way of saying why you shouldn't in between episodes 5 and 6?
why would it make the most sense to watch it last? (besides the "continued in" line) i keep asking questions cause i want to make it as specific as possible ^_^ people reading usually want a very specific justification instead of just saying "its better to watch here", i think they'd rather hear exactly why :D so i could say something like: while the movie is not a direct sequel to the tv series (though was chronologically made after), the tv series does end saying "to be continued in the movie", even though the plot doesn't continue in the movie. You technically could watch the movie any time after episode 1 <insert WHY here>, but probably not in between 5 and 6 <insert WHY here>. it would probably make the most sense to watch it after the tv series because <insert WHY here>. if you can fill in those "insert why here's", it'll be good to go :) |

I'd say you could watch eX Driver in just about any order, except after episodes 5 and 6, just because 5 and 6 kind of bring a wrap to the series. The Danger Zone OVA is a kind of prequel, but it has a character introduced in episode 4 of the series so it is best watched after episode 4.

No it defenatly has to come before the series because all the characters are younger in it, it serves as the introduction to the characters in Ep 4, rather than the other way around.
Episodes 5 and 6 are the only two episodes that have any kind of story thread between them (2 parter). Episode 1 serves to introduce the characters for the rest of the series and the movie. Placing the movie last would be more of a flow thing I guess IMO. The entire series takes place in Japan and is about them doing their work there. The movie takes place in America, with no leadin or lead out, so it's kindof an "extra feature" if you stuck it in the middle of the series it would be kind of like watching the Animatrix inbetween the matrix movies. Doable.. yes .. would I recomend it.. no.

Danger Zone was made to be a fun look-back kind of thing for Nina and Rei fans, so it should be watched after episode 4 when Rei is introduced. Episodes 5 and 6 kind of wrap up the series with the renegade AI incidents toning down a bit, and the end of episode 6 shows what Shuichi and the others are doing now that rabid AI car incidents are starting to fade away.
Anyway, Danger Zone wouldn't work as a starter for the series because it doesn't ease you into the series like the first 3 episodes of the series, and 4 introduces Rei (who is a main character in Danger Zone) so it should be: Episodes 1-4 Danger Zone anytime after episode 4 Movie anytime after episode 4 Episodes 5 and 6 |
