I know! Isn't it amazing? *insert no-holds-barred FFVII:AC fangirling and copious gushing*

Yeah that would be great. I've heard the GBA release of FFVI has a rewritten script. Despite FFVI being my favorite video game overall, I'm not about to buy a GBA or DS just for that (though a remade FFIV might make a DS justifiable when the price drops a bit more). It's kind of sad they said it's easier than the original however.

Honestly though, I think an expanded script is a double-edged sword. I felt FFVII and FFVIII suffered at times from too much verbiage (among other things). FFIX did well with that (though it still wasn't well liked by younger fans who didn't get the 8bit references). I would hate to see FFVI filled with dialogue that does nothing but add 10 hours of reading with no real value. What would be really great though is not a DS remake but a PS3/360 remake using Yoshitaka Amano's original art.

Okay, so pretty much if I really want to be entertained (properly), I need to play the games. Only problem: I don't even have a Playstation :(

But for my budjet that's not even impossible anymore, PS 2 is actually pretty cheap nowadays... Oh, by the way, would I need to get more than one PS if I wanted to play all the FF games, or do they all work in the same one, and which one? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to console games, we've only had a PC and I've played tons with that but... I want moarrrr :3

Buy a PS2 and that'll cover you for all the most popular FF games i.e. VI - XII

Or, at least, I swear they re-released 6 on PS1.

The next game, XIII, will be out on Xbox360 and PS3, however. And for that, I'm getting myself and Xbox, because it's way WAY cheaper. Microsoft did me good there.

And XIV will be an MMO on the PC. Due out in 2010 or 2011.

I'm more interested in finding a PS1 to play Legend of Dragoon though, I'm dying to play it.

My introduction to RPGs was a Legend of Dragoon demo, so it'll always hold something of a special place for me. I liked the timing-based battle system, though there were some curious decisions that held it back. Thankfully, the dragoons had enough of a coolness factor that I simply didn't care :P

Advent Children is a direct sequel to the game, so it's relevant in a way that none of the others are. And when you do watch Advent Children, be sure to watch COMPLETE rather than the original. I reviewed the original, and it's good, but COMPLETE really fleshes out certain plot elements and reinvents some of the fights to be even BIGGER and BETTER.

The Spirits Within, Unlimited, and Legend of the Crystals have nothing to do with the games, though.
With this I agree.
