Umineko no Naku Koro ni . . . and the story of chii's avatar

Another victim!

Well, chii's avatar is Frederica Bernkastel from Umineko no Naku Koro ni aka Higurashi no Naku Koro ni 3 (officially unofficially known as When They Cry 3). Umineko is another one of those great stories, much in the vein of Higurashi. Only this time there's more people and . . . well, let's not spoil anymore. It's good. It'll make you think. And by the way, it made it on my lists.

Who Frederica really is (big spoilers here), though chii should read

Any fan of Higurashi should know who the poet Frederica is. She is Rika Furude. She's the "psycho Rika," the one with the adult voice and the one who knows how everything is going to happen. And she looks rather like Rika in Umineko doesn't she? This time though, it's Maria's time to play Frederica's old role. Frederica is one of the witches this time 'round.

By the way, notice anyone else who looks familiar? Now just who does Lambdadelta look like? . . . What does lambdadelta stand for anyways . . . Didn't someone have a name kind of like that in Higurashi . . . (hint hint)

What chii, did you think this was going to be a hentai loli too? ;p

Obviously give this VN a spin too. Any Higurashi fan should. Don't want to spoil the story (well, there's no answer arcs yet so . . .). I'm pretty sure at least the first two chapters are fully translated. Realistically, I think this is better than Higurashi right now. We'll see if the answer arcs remain good.

Also, an anime is going to be made of Umineko. Just throwing that in. Not in a while though. One of those worth keeping your eye out for, especially since Higurashi Rei is coming out soon. Hopefully they will stop doing all those other chapters and just go to Umineko.

well i have renewed interest in watching all the higarashi's now in time for the anime.
Been always meaning to watch higurashi, but the anime has Rie Kugimiya in it :)...as a minor role :p... u take what ur given :p

OMG i never knew anything past Season 2 of Higurashi was being made! AWESOME! The VN looks like it could be interesting too, too many good things recomended by purplemo

Umineko has barely anything to do with Higurashi, it's more something like Tsukihime vs F/SN or KnK.

If anything, the English title should be something like When They Cry - Umineko.
