Visual Novels are pretty cool I have to say. Clannad was my first but I haven't bothered finishing it... since I got FSN at the same time.

I'm still digging around for some of the classics momo mentions in the op.

Heavens Feel is the longest route too :) Lol, it's a lot of reading. It takes twice as long if you are trying to get all the tiger stamps too.

F/HA supposedly is only 30% translated, so unless you can read japanese, your gonna have to wait a year or so.

I finished all routes and all stamps and all CGs.... I had to get some help for the CGs and like 1/3 the stamps=\

Just started up the Clannad VN since I convinced one of my friends to watch the series (and I'm watching it again, too). Seems interesting enough, even having seen teh series.

^I just finished my first playthrough of Clannad going through Fuuko's route (the true ending) (haven't gotten to after story or any other arcs).

I've already seen the anime, so already knew what happens... but GODDAMNIT.
I had to take a break for a few minutes during the ending.
Jeez. that's freaking ridiculous. My eyes are burning.

Vn's I've played in order of favourite to worst

Ever17 - all routes except bad ends - Highly Recommend
G-Senjou no Maou - All routes - Recommend but does have H-scenes
Remember 11 - All ends except some death scenes (there's alot of them...) - Recommend if you like Ever17
Utawarerumono - All routes - Has some great gameplay ontop of being a Vn (does have H-Scenes) - Would recommend
Clannad - all routes 100% - Is a good vn to get started with
Chaos;Head - Dropped - Got to about 60% though the game and encountered save game corruption glitch :( - Advise against unless you can read Japanese to get around glitch
Fate/Stay Night - Stalled - Lost interest - wont recommend
ef - a fairy tale of the two - Dropped - lost interest - wont recommend

Ohhhh. There WAS a visual novel topic. Was hoping for something like this. Mine would be... in rough order of loving them to bits... Ever17, Chaos;Head, Cross Channel, Tsukihime and a bunch of straight-out eroge where the plot is secondary/non-existent. But really, all of these have been pretty much pure enjoyment.

...too bad I'll never see an anime of Ever17.

Yeah, that's pretty much the problem. Could change... massive spoiler so anyone reading, really really don't open this unless you've played it all the way through...

it into something chronicling everything that happened as two separate stories

but it'd still take the best part out, so... yeah. No You appearing in the character database for me to like.
