O.K. This may sound like a weird thread, but unlike the stereotypical anime fan I am into working out and sports and all of that. About a month ago I started watching GTO and that anime(especially the first episodes) got me pumped up to work out. Part of it was the opening song and another was that Onizuka is an athletic freak who is strong and tough and it made me want to work out more, and I ended up doing a workout regimen after each episode.
I would watch three episodes a night and after each one I would do a set of 15-20 pullups, 50 pushups, 50 situps, jump rope 100 times, and 15-20 chin ups. This got me in shape a lot faster, because GTO motivated me to work out harder. I finished GTO last night and now I am looking for another anime that will motivate me in the same way. So my question is are there any other anime that people have found that got them pumped up to work out or something similar? Another one I can think of is Hajima No Ippo and possibly Initial D. |

Utawarerumono, Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent made me wanna kill somebody if that counts as being pumped up. but i think the only anime i've seen that has made me feel energized is probly akira, the rush i got from that movie made me feel ready for anything and everything.

Thanks for the responses guys. I agree that fighting anime would probably do this as well. I may try air master. I have just started watching Baki the Grappler, which is a fighting anime, so hopefully it will motivate me in the same way GTO did.

Gotta be Tsuiokuhen in that case. The fights there are just plain awesome while the fights in the normal series are usually just...meh...
Kenshin vs Saitou (think that's his name) was pretty good though |
