Recomendations?

Currently I have been watching a lot of anime shows lately and the ones I really enjoyed were Fooly Cooly, Welcome to the NHK, Paranoia Agent, Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl and Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai and I was wondering if there are any other similar shows, especially like Welcome to the NHK. This is hardly helping but if you want a fucked up fucking mind fuckery of a show like FLCL, then Popee the Performer is your best bet. Not only do they have symbolism, but their plots are nothing alike and aren't really alike in general. Popee is all about sheer violence and carnage with brutality, mind rape, homoerotic clowns who are really Sun Gods and the most diabolic douche of a psychobunny you've ever seen. It's about the journey! The violence! The homoerotic subtext! The homoerotic! The racism against aliens, explosions, mind decay and some performing. It's THE cult anime! The greatest thing since shit in a jar!

Seems a little silly, what if i asked the opinion on the of shows that other members may have watched?

I see your point, it would be nice if we could have recommendations threads. I look at them for recommendations from time to time. But here it basically defeats the purpose of the site; recommending anime based on what other people thought was similiar. If they like a, then they might like b. Okay one the recs you wanted was for Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko in rec it says that Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! is similar to it, and I would have agree with that. Now I haven't watched Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko, but just based off the premise know that you will feel right at home with Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! Another reason why there is a no rec thread rule is if the site allowed them, then half of the threads would be recommendation threads, which could potentially flood the forum.
