You'd still enjoy GunXSword and Straight Jacket. I hate mecha but they actually rock.

I'm slowly working my way through Zan Sayonara Setsubou Sensei, one episode at a time. I have to say I'm enjoying it a lot more than Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. So far I've seen little of the forced weirdness prevalent in the second season, the focus being on simple, humorous cultural observations.
