Umineko no Naku Koro ni, ep.1

So I guess the only connection to Higurashi is the author, and that it's a supernatural mystery series?
The first episode was ok. Though there were too many characters to really keep track of.
The character animation is pretty bad, worse than the recent Higurashi stuff, but the backgrounds are nice, and things like the rain scenes were done well.
Can't say much for the story, still needs time to warm up.
The kid's a pain, I sympathized with the mother.

IMO, ...no Index should have ended after the 6th episode. :/
Then the title would have made a lot more sense.
