Anime that you don't understand why people like

I agree that Noein dragged on a bit, for the last 4-5 episodes. But, please do not describe it as a "quantum physics class". The story was interesting (I thought), but the "science" was happy-go-lucky-yatta-yatta-weird.

yu-gi-oh, i know a lot of middle age men who love that show, don't know why but they do.

(thought i'd put spoilers here so i don't purposely offend any yu-gi-oh people)i hate yu-gi-oh, both the card game and the show, hate it with a passion! (thought i'd get that out there)

I'm inclined to agree with this. Its fine if you’re a kid and watching, but isn't a little strange that everyone is freaking out about a CARD GAME?!

Every time someone says "I activate my TRAP CARD!" It looks like half the cast freaks the hell out.

Everyone on that show is going to die of massive heart failure at the age of 30 from stressing over their favorite CCG.

In its defense, there seems to be a few romance, redemption, and other emotional sub-plots floating about. However actually sitting through the card battles is just torture.

I find the whole concept of .hack worse. Whenever I see those people in the show talk all deep about the politics of the world or solving this and that I need to do a double take and wonder "who the hell gets that involved in a MMORPG?!!" Then I think to myself "well . . ."

.hack never bugged me quite as much if only because someone is always in a coma from being in "The World" and the main plot is often to save them. Although .hack does have a habbit of side-tracking into MMORPG politics which really don't matter at all in the grands scheme of things.

any and all gundams... I tried watching a few here and there... Gundam Wing, G Gundam... or whatever they were called, maybe one or two more seasons that I caught one or two eps of each but for the most part I couldn't get into the shows at all... and not from a lack of trying.

Akira... I just don't get it. That movie was about as painful for me to watch as Star Wars, and I truly despise Star Wars. >.<
