Shikabane Hime: Kuro
Im glad i didnt drop this one after the first episodes of Aka. It definately picked up and became a thoroughly enjoyable action/horror series. Well maybe not horror, but horror elements (corpses etc...) Whilst perhaps the conclusion is a bit messy, it still works, and it does make you want to go the source material to find out more. I recommend it if you want girl kicking-arse action with potential romance between leads and enough of a solid and consistent plot/story arc that does involve you enough. And Makina is damn awesome |

I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. The music was alot better then expected, Koyuki had a great voice (watched the dubs). Good storyline, great characters, there's little flaws to be found. The animation was sometimes slightly lacking though. In some of the early episodes while singing, the heads were very static, with the mouths moving too little. But overall the animation was good. 4.5/5, made it into my top10 |

Just finished watching: Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora...
And I must say it was a beautiful short story, with wonderful animation, sound, character development and entertainment. It also had a uniqueness that I have yet to come across in any other anime. Based around traditional ideals of education, hardships, and blossoming love proved to be no burden to this enjoyable series. I highly recommend it, I know it is new release and not many have listed as viewed. Looking forward to seeing what other people think of this joy. 8.8 / 10 from me Shaman King next on the list. I've heard mixed opinions :/ Last edited by melonade; 05-13-2009 at 02:18 AM. |

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete
HOLY SHIT! I just finished watching Complete. And fuck me it reinvented so many key scenes, added so much dialogue, it felt like a whole new movie almost! Basically EVERYTHING makes sense now, the characters, the story, what everyone wants, why they're fighting... even the fights are reinvtented to fit in better with the more coherent plot. They outdid themselves. Especially with Cloud, Denzel, and Kadaj... and Reno was so much more fun with all his extended scenes. There was even a golden chocobo! (Albeit it was just a little statuette). This feels closer to the heart of the original story. Just wonderful. OH FUCK ME. I'm so happy! A few choice moments that seriously pleased me: Honestly, whoever hasn't already, you need to watch this shit. |

Just finished Blood+
This was an interesting watch, despite it taking me 13 or so episodes to get fully into the show, it did pay off. I found it to be extremely enjoyable. The show does suffer from slightly off pacing and could have been done better, despite this, it had too many strong moments that made up for it. The characters are all pretty realistic for the situation thier in and express thier emotions and problems throughout the series, this does build heavily on character progression and development too, as in the later part of this 50 episode series you can see some major changes in everyone, i personally really enjoyed almost every character in this show. The main character, Saya, really shines in the later half of this show (episode 25 onwards) her own personal development was well planned. Others like Kai, Haji and Diva also had a great development that was evident at the end. The ending to this show has to be one of my favourites of all time, it made me happy, sad, fulfilled, it finished things properly, this was a major strong point and remains my favorite part of the series. Overall this show has to be in my top 30/20, it was a true joy to see and should be seen by more people, i'll give it a 4/5 or 8/10, i want to give it higher but there were a few problems such as off pacing and a longer than expected delay to the meatier parts of the show. |

Tweeny Witches OVA
Ignore the title, this show is a massively underrated good old fashioned adventure. I had forgotten about the OVA as it wasn't subbed when I first hunted for it, but managed to get it yesterday, and I'm so glad I did! It reminded me of what I loved about the tv series, with the same lovable characters, and highly improved animation (one episode is like a visual orgy, using seamless cg with the animation). The music was a blast from the past, using the original OP and ED (even keeping the same visuals). The dubbing VA used are the same, and make a pleasant suprise to the usual godawful US voice acting I've come across recently. The story is simply some adventures that take part during the original series, but it gives a background story to Arusu, Eva and Sheila. Each tale is neaty wrapped up within the 22 minute episode time, and it leaves you wanting more stories from the witches realm. If you have seen Tweeny Witches, this is a must. If you haven't, get out there and watch the original! Fantasy and adventure fans will not be disappointed ^^ H.
