The poetic thinking the main dude had going on too was wierd. 'The darkened abyss exudes from my broken soul, the blossoms felt like the aching cries of my lonely heart' *pisstake* he needs to seriously get a life >_> |

Spice and Wolf
3.0 out of 5 Pretty average.. i think i enjoyed "Carried by the Wind" a little better as it was far more amusing, and had a tighter writing style. About all spice and wolf had going for it was better animation and music. Not very good overall... not bad... i disliked how Horo's personality changed form episode to episode. It was as if she was different people. That type of inconsistency really bugged me. Its like the writer of the anime couldn't decide how he wanted her to be and so made her three different people. Overall... not particularly good. 3.0 on production value, and an interesting story concept, too bad it was sorta botched. |

Just finished Episode 11 of Koi Kaze, that ep was wrong on so many levels, yet, it was really good, this show continues to entertain in a realistic way. Very good show.

Le portrait de Petite Cossette
Here's what I had to say about it in another thread: Quote:
3.5 / 5 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Kurenai I expected so much from this show that in the end I'm somewhat disappointed even if I thought the show was good. I really liked the slice-of-life/comedy nature of the show, the scenes with Yamie and Tamaki were definitely the highlights of the series to me, but the actions/dramatic scenes were so ridiculous that I was on the verge of biting the keyboard... A car chase in the halls of the Kuhouins mansion? I know it's huge, but come on... I liked the ending, but the second you remember that Murasaki is freakin 7 years old, you realize that it doesn't make much sense... I might give the manga a shot though, since I liked the idea behind the story. A good show overall, but I expected something a lot more tragic and realistic than that. 3 / 5 |

Just finished Koi Kaze
I'm amazed at how little attention this gets, a great show, only hindered because it's in the incest area. I can see why it would put off some people, but if given a chance this show really shines. It was compelling to watch and i did enjoy it's ending, certainly not the worst. I gave it a 4/5 or 8/10 Needs to be seen before being criticised by those wierded out by this sorta show. |

Disgaea.
The animation kind of sucked, there was no excitement, and the voices were annoying. But it was funny, really i'd recommend not watching this and playing the game instead. |

Megumi
This is a free download from the Japanese government, telling the story of a family who lost their 13 year old daughter when she was snatched by North Korean spies in the late 70s. I was really not sure what to expect from this, thinking it would be some kind of political show pony used at bashing the Koreans. Pleasantly, it was not and instead was a honest and open telling of Megumi's parents struggle. The animation was quite pretty, and had real life pictures of the girl and her family. The only real issue I had with this show was the voice acting. As there are no subtitles, I had to watch it with the dubbing.... this was honestly one of the worst dubbing hatchet jobs I have *ever* heard. Megumi sounded like a preppy american school girl, and her mother sounded like she was struggling with the english language >.< The story was quite moving, especially considering it was a true story. If anyone else watches it, I highly recommend reading more about the story, as there seems to be a lot more to what is contained within the animation. I commend the Japanese goverment for making this, as I wouldn't have heard about it otherwise. H.

Vandread 2nd Season
I must say I prefered the first one. This has way too much pointless episodes Well whining about what could be better aside - it was still not bad choice for a light show, and I can't say it was boring or annoying most of the time. 6/10 |

5cm Per Second:
Shinkai is probably the most talented one-trick pony. Two distant lovers. Some text messaging. A dash of sci-fi. Stuff happens. Unlike his other stuff, though, I couldn't help but like it. |
