Sorry, I wasn't referring to you specifically with the manga comment. In my head I was imagining the usual argument for why GANTZ is bad, and the usual attack is that the manga is better. Little ahead of myself there.
I meant my post to be more fun/silly but probably came off argumentative. I do like the show a lot though ><. |

Finished Popotan. The premise seemed silly, but this was actually an excellent tale. The animation was very vivid and colorful and put one in mind of a children's series, but with all the gratuitous ecchi-ness throughout ... it was no children's series. While the focus was mainly comedy, there were also quite a few serious moments and good drama intermixed with the laughs that made it quite memorable.

Shakugan No Shana.
Boring ..that's pretty much it. Whoever wrote Wilhelmina's lines shoul be hurt, there is no reason to say indeed that much. Last edited by arc666; 04-17-2009 at 08:04 AM. |

Mononoke
Good times! I didn't expect it to be that good because I wasn't as blown away by the Bakeneko arc of Ayakashi as many others were (possibly, I suspect, because I didn't understand it or really dwell on it all that much). So imagine my surprise that this series left me completely speechless, which it did. Anyone out there looking for their next fix of surrealism, gorgeous art, and just plain old pretentious fun? Dial this series up. I'll stress the fun part too, though that's doubtless very subjective for me. Mushishi is brilliant but not the kind of show you marathon sort of entertainment; Texhnolyze is, well, completely devoid of joy. Mononoke falls into the Lain category of a headscratcher I CANNOT WAIT TO FINISH AND MARATHON IMMEDIATELY. Not as addictive as Paranoia Agent and Neon Genesis Evangelion but truthfully only a shade below. But then I'm the only one who thought that about Lain am I not? To be fair I don't think Mononoke is the gr8st evar!!! as I think some of its fans have claimed - as a series of standalone arcs it never feels cohesive in the way that the completely episodic Mushishi managed so effortlessly - but it really is a lot of fun and a wonderful gem of a series that is more or less instantly in my top favourites. Give it a try maybe it's possible you won't regret it. |

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: Season Two (FUNimation Entertainment English Dub) - 7/10.
I was VERY disappointed with how it ended, I can't wait to see the OVAs & Specials when they are finally English Dubbed. Last edited by BabyNaruto; 04-18-2009 at 09:39 AM. |
