Darker Than Black + OVA
Fun! And much more serious than I thought I'd be. I'd prefer if it stayed episodic, but the climax wasn't half bad too. It's a shame every character I really liked ended up dead or mutilated. Pretty art, pretty music, can't wait to watch the continuation. 8/10 OVA was just an interesting side-story. Nothing special. 7/10

Carnival Phantasm + EX Season + Ilya's Castle
Exceeded my expectations definitely. Really funny and such an eye-candy for F/SN fan such as myself. I didn't care much about the other cast, but Rider, Gil and Assassin make me want to put this in my favorites. Which of course won't happen since Tsukihime parts were as dull as the main show and I wasn't familiar with Melty Blood so the cats were kinda annoying. 7/10 Darker Than Black Gaiden Nice way to connect the two seasons. Also Hei and Yin make a cute couple. Now, onto the second season. 7/10 .hack//Roots Uh, I don't know, it was just the same story all over again. I'm getting tired of the series, honestly. It was great in Sign, since the story was psychological and character-driven, but Twilight Princess and Roots didn't have interesting characters at all. And they even stopped showing amazing sceneries of The World like that did in the first series, it's such a shame. Overall an overused concept with nothing new to add. I'll probably watch other .hack// anime, but not so soon. 6/10

Planetes
Fantastic anime, a really down to Earth look at space travel after it has become somewhat mundane. Hachimaki and Tanabe is a great leading couple and the drama that emerges from their different views on life and the universe is very well written and with some serious depth to it. The characters are overall really well done and you get a feel for all of them, through good and bad we get to suffer their plights, but there's always room for some humor which cracked me up on several occasions. The only real flaw is that it takes a little while for the core story to get going and the ending dragged on a bit too long but other than that, it's a fantastic drama that just happens to be set in space.

Sengoku Otome: Time Paradox
Great, now I can think of Fuedal Lords without giving them massive chests. At least the action and intrigue were pretty good (and somewhat historically accurate). Just hate the cliche of the metal bikini being the best armor ever. |

^ Actually I find it rather enjoyable these 5 episodes in. I might like it more than the first season.
