The name never shows up iirc.And tbh 2nd season was disapointing for me.The dark atmosphere in 1st wasnt anywhere in 2nd.After watching 1st season i was full of questions and anxious to watch the next episode,but 2nd season answering them totally ruined the atmosphere for me atleast.After discoveries of certain things,the ending was almost predictable.Oh and rallying the town for Satako,the traps for pursuers were extremely childish and it didnt suit this series al all.

I've never heard the name, but there is an unnamed female character appearing in the last minute of the last episode and who seems to have ties with the main storyline.

She's the one who saves Tanaka's parents from the accident

Nope. Frederica's one of those "hidden in plain sight" characters (I should spoil since it doesn't really matter but to explain her would be to explain one of the bigger spoilers in Higurashi along with). Anyways, thanks Gallarn and Fireaxe. Now I know another huge huge mark against the anime (trust me, anyone who knows Frederica would be very upset about her not showing up, almost as much as Hanyuu, if it were possible for her to not show up and the story make sense).

But wouldn't it be possible for them to keep her "part of the story" for an "answer to the good ending" chapter in S3? This is just pure speculation since I don't anything about what wasn't in the first two seasons.

Nope, Frederica actually "shows up" in every chapter in the game. She should've showed up at least by the answer arcs. Frederica's not integral to the anime watcher, but is for the person who played the "game" (I think of it more a visual novel and not a game since you don't really DO anything). Again, I want to spoil (I think of Frederica more of an "easter egg"), especially since the anime watchers will never ever meet Frederica

Now all those discussions about Frederica made me even more curious about the game.If the character wasnt used in first 2 seasons then i guess shes not gonna show up in 3rd series as well?I could barely restrain myself from opening your spoilers :p

Even though i always thought that sports anime aren't awesome...I tried to watch Hajime No Ippo and trust me it was the best thing ever...I would recommend it to everyone...it has a little of everything...action, suspense, comedy, and love.
