Visually stunning, it really is awesome. But the storyline was somewhat inferior to its predecessor, still a great movie if you're into Shirow's material. But personally, I fell asleep halfway through because it was late and I was exhausted from work, so I'll have to give this movie another shot at some point :p |

Just finished Kino no Tabi.
Nice watch. I liked Mushishi more though.

Eyeshield 21 This really surprised me, since I normally hate anything with sports. I really enjoyed this series. The characters are all well developed, and the story kept me on the edge of my seat. I almost screamed in the very end of the last episode when

I was a nice, light show. A good mediocre one. That is until the ending one the series came; Also, the final episode blew big time as well. I dont have any real reason for this I guess. It was pretty much like most of the series, with a tad more stupidity, but I just couldn't stand it for some reason. Or there might've been a rason and I've just forgotten about it. I was however pleasently suprised that Mamoru Miyano (ex: Tamaki from Ouran) did Fin's voice. The animation was alright, the soundtrack was good most of the time. Even though it had the ingrediants for disaster it was still pretty entertaining. 6/10

Kanon.
This felt like a dress rehearsal for the 2006 remake. The animation is, unsurprisingly, much weaker, being as it is 4 years older. This wouldn't be too bad if it weren't for the terrible character designs. Half of the characters look deformed. Yuuichi is by far the worst, though. His mouth is almost between his eyes, for Christ's sake. The voice actor for his character, the only one that they changed in the 2006 remake as far as I can tell, plays him very differently, making him much less likable. He seems much less mature, and his lines aren't delivered with quite the same biting sarcasm, resulting in the lighthearted scenes being far less humorous. The most obvious problem, I have though, is the way everything is compressed. Obviously this version is only 13 episodes long, while the remake is 24, so there's a lot less time for character development. The way they chose to structure it doesn't help, either. While the remake chose to have clear arcs, each of which focused on one character, building up to and ending, the original has them run together, seldom giving the spotlight to a single character and, what were the arc endings in the 2006 remake are, in the original, showns in quick succession. This means that I found it harder to care about the characters, as I was bombarded by dramatic developments one after another with little time spent building up to them. I also didn't like the way they emphasised the romantic nature of the show. In the remake, such things were hinted at, but there was always the option to interpret relationships as platonic friendships: This said there were elements in the original not present in the remake that I really enjoyed. They spent more time on the Student President character, fleshing him out a bit more and making him more central to Mai's story. The ending, I felt, was also a bit better: Basically this version is pretty much the same as the 2006 remake, but with enough differences to make it worth a watch. Whether you will find these differences from the 2006 remake good or not is another story. |

Just watched H20 Footprints in the Sand
Ok... i dunno what to make of the series, Overall, i thought it was mostly enjoyable. A lot of it was good, i really liked Hiyami, she sounds like a really strong girl. Hirose was a bit of a wimp... but its a harem so its all forgiveable. The art was decent, and when it wanted to, it could set up a nice mood. But I didnt like the perveted moments, and i didnt like the pacing. Too much didnt make enough sense, and too much filler in the beggining and too rushed an ending... |

There's not much I can say about this anime that I haven't said about many others already. Decent artwork, decent sounds, decent story/plot, decent characters... I enjoyed it a lot, even if it had a lot of predictable plot twists and devices. It also did a few unnecessary things towards the end as well but nothing that made absolutely no sense what so ever. Ultimately worth the watch.
