I read a lot of the favorite open and ending themes for some great shows, but which ones make you want to shove a pencil in you ear?

for me its

the open for Ghost in the Shell 1st SAC: it drove me nuts!

the open for Azumanga Daioh: I just forund the open theme annoying for some reason.

Lucky star's open use to bother me but now i love it. (lol i guess that doesnt count for songs i cant stand)

The current opening and ending of dragonaut the resonance . Oh and I could not stand any of the endings of chobits , yet I really enjoyed the opening which had that catchy '' let me be with you '' phrase in it.

Lol yeah the GITS: SAC theme song is pretty bad.... Chobit's one was also terrible.

Love Slave - DearS: Too annoyingly pitched, and doesn't the title just puke "lifeless love dolls for every loser male fantasy" all over?

Hop Step Jump - Kita e: Annoyingly upbeat, and what makes it worse is it's so wrong for the show.

Fugainaiya, Dramatic - H&C Series: That voice just grates my ears, and those wet panties and prawn claw just don't help the issue.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan - Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan: Almost as bad as Dokuro-chan's voice.

Thesis of a Cruel Angel - Evangelion: This is more like a Pavlov's dog reaction. I liked it to begin with, but hearing it so many times over and over and having everyone love it so much, I can't stand it anymore. Almost as bad as the 1 million versions of Fly Me to the Moon (another one I can't stand)

To name a few, Motteke! Serafuku from Lucky Star is slowly dragging me closer and closer to an insane asylum. And as much as I love Neon Genesis Evangelion, "Cruel Angel's Thesis" now pretty much gets on my nerves. I used to love it before. I don't know what happened. Finally, I TRIED to like Puzzle from Welcome to the NHK, but it never seemed to work.

I'm pretty open to Engrish, but after a point you just have to wish that they'd realize that it just doesn't work if you're not reasonably fluent =|

I'll also second the various renditions of "fly me to the Moon" for the NGE endings.

Aw, come on, the prawn claw made everything better (Beetlejuice ftw!).

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan - Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan: Almost as bad as Dokuro-chan's voice.

I can understand it on some level, but the thing is it's complete parody. if you're looking for soemthing to throw on your mp3 player and listen to while reading a book, sure, it's horrible. But with the accompanying animation sequence (and subtitles) it's hilarious. Also, isn't it sung by Dokuro-Chan's seiyuu? So in essence it is as annoying as Dokuro-chan's voice + the song ^^;;

Aww I like the H&C openings, but I guess I'm just weird and like anything that's moderately catchy.

I agree with the Neko Mimi Mode (Tsukuyomi Moon Phase OP). It's irritating.

Also, the opening to School Rumble 2 ("Sentimental Generation") gets on my nerves.
