why do people bash on gonzo studio so much?

i'm really confused at why people hate gonzo so much.. personally i'm a huge fan of their works.. mainly because their earlier productions were good.. vandread, fmp, hellsing, kiddy grade, saikano .. of course not everythings perfect but do compare them with anime producted during those years.. they're pretty dan good.. but of course.. theres always the fails..throughout the years ...but theres usually at least one i like that they produce every year..

2k7 - RXJ, afro samurai
2k6 - NHK, Pumpkin scissors
2k5 - speed grapher, trinity blood
2k4 - gankutsuou, samurai 7
2k3 - chrono crusade
2k2 - kiddy grade, saikano FMP
2k1 - hellsing, vandread SS
2k - vandread1st

but of course i may be a little biased.. but think they deserve a little bit more credit.. how many studios back in 2000 were using cgs in their anime?

Gonzo is kool. THEY MADE THE BOX SET FOR DESERT PUNK AND THAT WAS AWESOME! also didnt they do origin: spirits of the past?

Gonzo is a pretty cool animation company. I just love many of there works.

i actually don't mind gonzo, they made some good series like desert punk and speedgrapher

i never thought gonzo would be hated by anyone.

even though their name somewhat pisses me off.

I don't really see the reason why Gonzo's so bad either. I think it's just on a few occasions that some of their series rubbed me in the wrong way, but they aren't necessarily a bad company. I've heard rumors though that they completely changed the focus of Bokurano from the manga, but I still want to see that series.

Gankutusou, NHK, and RxJ are all series I really enjoyed. I'm enjoying Trinity Blood right now as well.

All the shows you listed are some of my favorite ones I can't really see me bashing them because they make good work imo.

From what I understand, this was caused by a statement from the director that he'd like to find ways to "save" more of the kids after episode 10 or so. If there was a change in that regard, I didn't see it - rest assured that the end result fulfills the promise that first few episodes start. I haven't read the manga, but I found the anime very satisfying, even through to the end, and I would describe it as one of the sleeper titles of this year's spring season.

Perhaps if we could hear some specific reasons that people are supposedly hating on Gonzo, we might be better able to formulate a response. I suppose it might have something to do with a few "bad" endings to anime adaptations (ie, Gantz, Pumpkin Scissors), or what they did to Hellsing. But really, that's just me grasping at straws. I'd like to hear what a few anti-Gonzo fans have to say.

Assuredly, if you can put out new exiting shows like Basilisk, Red Garden, Chrono Crusade, and Gankutsuou, and movies like Origins and Brave Story, you are doing something right.
