Whose shoes would you be in?

(I searched the past threads and didn't see one like this, but if this thread has already been made, please feel free to lock it.)

If you had to be in any anime character's shoes, who would it be?

Please note that this doesn't mean you would BE that character (ex: "I'd want to be Ichigo Kurosaki because he's cool" isn't answering the question), but rather, in whose situation would you want to be?

I'm having trouble deciding... I'd consider maybe a shinigami, though I don't know whose role. Except I think I'd be too afraid to fight in real life, so I'm not sure.

That'd be a big no for me. Being surrounded by loli girl, incestuous girl, ultra violent psycho bitch, girl with the mentality of a puppy, ultra smart and completely idiotic girl, complete utter ditz, crippled or terminally ill girl doesn't sound fun to me. Plus every single one of them is a massive dependent personality disorder and has no self-esteem. And they make the strangest noises too. Hearing uguu, auu, gao, guu all day and it won't take a 1000 year curse to kill me. I'll do it myself. :p

Luffy cause having my own ship and crew would be great, I'd make one helluva a captain. (We'd be searching for "One Cup")

Well, if I really had to choose I'd settle for some immortal god from an anime that has a non-post apocalyptic world, since that would guarantee me a lot of benefits and I'd live forever. For something less flashy, I wouldn't mind being in Light's position from Death Note at the beginning of the series, complete with the Death Note. I'm not sure what I'd do with it, but it would be nice to have and impossible to get caught with. (one of the things that annoyed me a little bit about Death Note was the fact that the conclusions L or Light came to at times were way more than their evidence warranted, or even suggested. )

Yeah, I've been toying with the idea of being in Light's position. I think it would be interesting, but difficult.

Maybe Winry from FMA, making automail to help cute guys (Ed) or animals.
