Not sure if this has already been posted, but what was your favorite anime of 2011? Give a reason or a like top 3 if you're the indecisive type.
Mine was Steins;Gate. |

My top 5 for 2011 would go like this: 1) Gintama' [5/5] -> even funnier than S1, as difficult as that sounds, plus improved animation and great fights. 2) Kaiji II [5--/5] -> absolutely thrilling and gripping, as well as dark and deliciously cynical - just my kind of show. 3) Steins;Gate [4.5/5] -> time travel is a theme I love and it was handled really well; loveable protagonists. 4) Usagi Drop [4.5--/5] -> the cause of my diabetes. 5) Ano Hana [4/5] -> best drama this year, with a good ensemble cast and wonderful dialogue. Madoka Magica would be a close sixth (4/5, too). I have yet to watch anything from Fall but other than maybe (just maybe) Fate/Zero I don't see anything that could likely change that top 5. Unless Ben-to is as fucking hilarious as people make it seem to be.

1) Kaiji 2 5 out of 5-A dark thriller with plenty of twists and turns this was by far my favorite show of the last year. Kaiji is a taught thriller that can make even the boring game of pachinko into a thrilling, tense battle of wits. It's no secret how much I love the Kaiji franchise and this was an almost perfect follow up to the first season.
2) Gintama 2011 5 out of 5- Kaiji is my favorite thriller and Gintama is my favorite comedy. Not much to be said other than after 240 episodes this show remains consistently hilarious. 3) Steins;Gate 4.5 out of 5- A great thriller with some nice twists and turns this show does have it's flaws but it was still a really entertaining ride. 4) Anohana 4++ out of 5- Excellent writing, believable characters and great dialogue with a bitter sweet sense of humor. This was an excellent drama that not only dealt how people process tragedy but it also captures what it is to be a teenager trying to grow up. The ending was a tad over dramatic but it still managed to work thematically and tie up all the loose ends. 5) Usagi Drop 4+ out of 5- This one is pure distilled joy. Cute, sweet and touching if you don't like this one then you probably don't have a heart. This was just a heartwarming slice of life. It wasn't particularly ambitious but it accomplished what it set out to do beautifully. And Rin is easily one of the most adorable anime children I have ever seen. I think the shows biggest accomplishment was making Rin act like a believable child rather than an overly precocious little shit or moe blob character. She instead manages to be adorable in a very believable way. Edit: And no surprise Link and I have the exact same anime on our list. |

nitpick: It's ''your'' favourite. You're means ''you are'' and though I like being favoured that is not what... I'm lingering off...
