A few problems I see already. -With the could computing option internet service providers WILL need to increase the infrastructure to be able to keep up with the massive amount of stream data. Recently one of the biggest us internet providers Comcast has been bitching about how stream movies is clogging up other users bandwidth. They out right refused to fix the solution by a much needed infrastructure upgrade and expansion. So instead they have recently added a monthly 250gb bandwidth cap. Also how will other internet providers respond to the massive amount of data that's going to be streamed. I don't think we are ready for this kind of amount of data to be streamed. -The market for high end gaming computers is continuously growing and getting bigger. How will those that sell us our gaming hardware going to respond? If this OnLive thing gets going and people accept it people could easily be saving thousands of dollars without having to build that kickass new gaming machine to just play they high end games that will be effortlessly streamed across the web and played on little cheap netbooks. -Console systems? This seems like if it gets up and running and becomes successful the demand for high end console systems could disappear? How will Sony and Microsoft take to possibly loosing millions of dollars in console market share? -Per month price?!? So far we have seen games are willing to pay upwards to 15$ a month to play online games. They say they have not set a per month price yet. Question is now how much would we as gamers be willing to pay per month to have every game we own sitting on a cloud computer across the net ready to play a maximum settings at a moments notice? As for being a gamer I think this is a great idea. I would love to save cash and not have to buy a new gaming rig to just play all those cool new games. Also it would be fun to just have it be plug and play anywhere around the world that has a strong internet connection. Aside from the fact the if this gets going then could computing has reached a point where it is now viable. Then what about the possibilities for other cloud computing solutions? Movie editing/ sound editing/ photo editing? wooo didn't think I would get so into writing that. and i still think i left a ton of thoughts out :(

@lanxdata: Lots of good points. You've really hit the nail on the head with a good portion of the problems I've heard others talk about too. I don't have much time right now, but when I do I'll post a blurb about my thoughts on it, I will say though that I'm as excited as you are about the idea, although cautious about hoping for it's success.

damn you, I just packed up my 360 earlier today!
EDIT: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...itled-1-17.jpg I fell through the geometry in Crysis: Warhead by punching the shit out of every tree around me so it was calculating too many physics objects, and eventually just broke the physics engine (trees would no longer fall over... they would just stay upright, but I could punch smaller pieces out of them. You can see the smaller bits just floating there). I then crouched under a tree that's unable to be broken by punching it, and then I punched it with Strength on. It pushed me through the ground. <3 breaking EA games LOL

(Crysis isn't an EA game. It's an EA published game.)
