I've still only beaten it once, but I've been thinking about going back through.

I spent my first time playing through it quite thoroughly, savoring every moment, and took over 25 hours in the end to complete it.

From my perspective 25hrs is rather short for a game; I prefer if it there's more then 60hrs. of content so I can feel that my money was well spent. Not sure how much time I've put into bioshock though, probably less then 10hrs. since I'm only about 50% done.

Well... BioShock is primarily a shooter. So 25 hours is pretty lengthy.

RPGs on the other hand, I expect at least 30 hours of gameplay usually.

I agree about bioshock seeing how it couldn't hold my attention for at least one play through. I don't think I've played an RPG that hasn't compelled me to play for at least 80 hours so that's probably where I'd put my expectations.

On the note of wasting a lot of time on one game, any one here besides me addicted to Ninja Gaiden?

I didn't find bioshock that much fun...
I got to like the 4th little sister, and quit. I hate how there's no game-over, but a respawn instead. So if you're fighting a Big Daddy and run out of bullets for your machine gun and die, you're basically fucked unless you backtrack a good 3 hours to find enough ammo to attempt the fight again. And even then, if you run out of ammo a second time, you've either gotta backtrack more, or just plain re-load, because you're fucking hard then.

Same thing with BF: Bad Company.
Give me a fucking game over screen if I die in a single-player campaign shooter.

They added an option in the patch where you can disable the vita-chambers permanently. They infuriated me as well. When the game was first released, whenever I died, I always deliberately reloaded my save game for that very reason.

Thankfully, it's no longer an issue at all.

I got about 3 plays through on Bio Shock.
great game.
The new one looks like it's going to be great.
...
that said where's my new RPG's at?
nothing has happened since Star Ocean 4.
I'm a little sad, but I guess it's summer so maybe I should go outside?
