Default AP Guild Wars 2 group possible?

All:

Is anyone playing Guild Wars 2? If so, would you like to start up a group/guild?

Regards,

I'm playing it, on Ehmry Bay already in a guild called Lucky Star :)

You're probably welcome to join if you'd like!

Soon (as in tomorrow).

Then again, you'd probably be on an american server, so no.

Anyone on Dragonbrand? Or perhaps know of a better US server that I should swap to?

I was in sea of sorrows, we were going up against ehmry bay when I first joined WvWvW, you guys were the ones who were actually able to put up a fight.

I'm in Stormbluff Isle now with some friends though

Is there any reason to play a class other than elementalist? Having 25 skills rather than 10 is so much more fun to play. You're pretty versatile and it's fun to play. Also meteor shower rules.
Though I hear that rangers (and their pets) are pretty overpowered, which is an argument in their favour, then again, they're probably gonna get nerfed soon.
Btw, I'm on FoW (europe if there is any such distinction).

^I find it (meteor shower) annoying. Everyone spams it and it makes it a pita to see anything in frenzied combat.

My favorite class thus far is ranger (I've tried out engineer, warrior, and guardian too). They've got killer bow moves, aoe, pets, and if you go melee are crazy with the acrobatics and damage. Plus traps :)

I don't think I'm overpowered at all, I get killed pretty easily by things like fire or hard hitting melee fighters and have limited quick escape abilities compared to thieves and other classes.

Engineer sucks btw - don't bother. They do pitiful damage compared to every other class and are limited to one weapon.

A pita?
I love it for protect NPC/location events, Since there's lots of enemies spawning. A well placed MS does away with quite a lot of them. The whole things seems much less tactical than GW1, with about 15 guys particiapating in such an event and most classes built around self reliance, there's really no need for dedicated support or anything of the like. Well, I'm only starting so I don't know too much, never been in a party or guild so far...so there's that too.

^pain in the ass.

There's more group support in the world vs world stuff and later in game. Early on everyone just seems to be running around without much strategy or thought.

Some classes have a decent amount of party buffs and aoe defensive/healing spells (Ranger is one of them). Even though there's not supposed to be dedicated healers and support classes, those classes can focus on it rather easily if needed/desired.
