the system ITSELF is abusable, obviously. anyone can just fabricate a number of episodes they've seen of an anime if theyre stupid enough to value the time wasted so highly, i don't see how implementing a re-watched feature will turn everything to shit.

lol but obviously that's stupid.... you say the staff here does things based on what makes sense.

so use what makes sense. I understand the point that it's technically abusable but like I said its impossible to avoid this system not being "abusable" and I think it's dumb to deny the community this useful feature when it just adds yet another way to abuse something very few people (nobody?) wants to abuse.

obviously this feature isnt going to be implemented "at the drop of a hat" and nowhere did I imply that was what was expected, I was simply trying to argue the point that it's a good idea, since the general consensus seemed to be the opposite.

but anyways if you're considering it, fine, then i'm not going to post anymore, but i hope you'll keep in mind that its a little stupid to deny the community of your website a useful feature for keeping track of their anime (which i thought this website was used for, but apparently its just a contest to see who's wasted more of their life on anime) because it's "abusable" (even though the system already is)

I think that sothis should bring in a new rule, for every month that people demand this feature she should delay it by a month.

what i dont get is why this argument was brought up at all - are you bringing anything new to the table that wasn't already mentioned in any one of the threads mentioned in the first post? you're basically saying 'ok, since you said its being considered ill stop'. that was already written in the first post. bringing it up again, saying the same things as other people have said, combined with insulting AP and saying 'this other site is bigger so you really should do it here too' isn't going to get you what you want.

again, for everyone to read: we do things based on what makes sense, and also based on priority. just because any user here thinks that there's a feature that absolutely must go up immediately, doesn't mean that 1) we have the $ to fund development for it, 2) we consider it higher priority than other features currently being developed (many of which aren't disclosed to the community until launched)

by the way, i'm going to split this conversation off and then lock this thread. it's crazy to me that we clearly say 'its being considered, dont ask again' and yet people still want to chime in with their own version of what others have said already.

I could imagine such feature (if being added), just not in the official time counter. Ie more or less a private feature. The current time counter shouldn't be ever exchanged with that feature (which some people seem to suggest). If only as addon.

The only satisfactory way it could be added in regards to the life bar is to have 2 life bars. One for original watches only, and one that includes rewatched time. Of course, coding 2 seperate bars would almost certainly be a royal pain.
