[NOTE] Searching the Forum
 

It is a known & long-standing bug that the forum search is borked. There's no telling when (or even if) it will ever get fixed. Nonetheless, there are ways to work around the issue, and at least attempting to do so before posting new threads will help us all.

Firstly, before posting a new bug or request, please at least take a moment to look through the existing threads in this forum and (especially) in the completed bugs/reqs subforum to see if your bug/request has already been posted. We don't expect you to look through every single thread, but even just the first page or two of this section & the completed section will help. (You'd be surprised how often someone posts a new thread when there's an existing one just a few threads down the list.)

Second: Extremely simple searches (single word searches, without selecting a subforum or anything) work fine. This has limited usefulness of course though, since you'll wind up with a huge list of results.

Third: Go ahead & do a normal forum search, then when you hit the error page simply refresh (if you get a prompt about resubmitting info, go ahead & say yes). This will often make the search go through. No one knows why this work, but it usually does.

Fourth: If all else fails, go to google & include site:http://www.anime-planet.com/forum/ and then whatever terms you want to search for. You can narrow your search down to a specific section of the forum by including that in the "site:" part (ie, site:http://www.anime-planet.com/forum/general-discussion/ would limit your search to the general discussion subforum).
