Ok I'm already not following what goes on. Discussion was about API, not even one word from sothis about it. No arguments, no skills demonstration, not even a word about the topic itself. What's the point then? If you not a programmer why you even speak about features and implementations that you don't understand?
be a queen then, rule your people, ignore then.. I'm backing off.. Last edited by holms; 07-08-2012 at 11:00 PM. |

"i demand you do this! it's so easy! why wont the admin do anything about this? she has no reasons that are valid"
and then insinuating i should pay attention to you and have a decent conversation about your request after that? i'm not sure what kind of sites you're used to running, or what kind of workplace you have, but from where i sit, i'm not obligated to reply to demands made in a rude, insulting way. maybe instead of pointing the finger at me, you should look at how you chose to bring this up and the manner in which you did it. as someone who's been on the site for 3 years, i think it should be pretty apparent to you (or anyone) how much i have put into the site - V3 came out around then, new features all the time, new improvements, a second server plus the activity feed, constant content being added, bugs being fixed any time they pop up, etc. if you call that ignoring, i might as well quit working on the site now, because i still use all free time every single day on this site, for free. just because a feature you want isn't added doesnt equal ignoring - not addressing your points in this thread is definitely ignoring, because it was brought up in such a shitty way. if you run a big site and choose to reply to demanding, rude statements, that's your choice. it's not mine here. and in regards to the multiple post edits made, i am a programmer, and there isn't a single person on the site who can tell you if something is easy or hard except me, as i not only wrote the entire codebase for the first 7 years, i also am the only active/consistent dev on it now.

don't try to reason with this "person" he obviously has no sense of propriety ....and common courtesy ....to make an account just so you can make treats and demands ....and then harangue the site owner for not jumping when you snap your fingers...persons like this deserve none of your time or attention....we/i appreciate all you do and the time you spend here ....and if some idiot wants to rant at you for not doing his bidding at his whim ...well .....it is just his loss and lack ...

ok sothis I'm sorry if any of the first post in this thread offended you.
I tried now and back then to constructively explain how api would help your users, and how it won't harm your traffic expenses, how it will save you traffic, and don't know what else can I say to convince you or at least to start descent discussion as DEVELOPERS not as users. I'm offering my donation on API development, or my free service of 10 years web development experience (I can attach my CV or linkedin). I don't know what else can I offer to get to the point.. |
