Default Coming soon: re-watch/re-read

It gets requested more than basically anything ever and though I've been against it (and am still against it), I'm going to finally cave and add the functionality.

With a caveat: there will never, ever be a way to sort users by their life on anime. If people want to cheat and inflate their life on anime, they can do so if it makes them feel better about themselves. But there will never be an easy way for their ego to be publicly stroked unless you're in the person's profile and see it first hand.

This functionality will need to be designed in on various parts of the site and then coded - if you have some spare $$ that you can donate towards this feature, especially if you're one of the billions of people requesting this feature, please do so. There's basically no site money right now (there have been a few donations recently - THANK YOU!! though we want to put up clubs, articles and a few other things like user reviews and all of those cost $ which I don't have for AP), so until we find a better way to bring revenue in I'll unfortunately be having to beg to you guys for awhile.

So if you've wanted rewatching and are excited, please donate!

More info to come once it gets closer. Just wanted to post this so if you see someone asking/talking about it, you can point them here.

Haha! Well, it'll be good for business. Baaaaaaaaaad for quality. I'm seeing so many abuses it's unbelievable. But people will love that feature, that's for sure. So yeah, whatever brings in the punters.

Being able to set something as re-watch would be useful, but I don't think it should count towards life on anime. It should just count the same as if you've seen the entire anime once.

If setting something to re-watch does count towards life on anime, then that would be enough of a reason for me to never use the feature.

Couldn't there just be kind of like a "watched count" by the name of the series in your anime list. And then let the life on anime bar show "unique time spent on anime" Kinda, so it doesn't count with the re-watches, but still there's an indication for it in your list.

I'm for this. Re-watching was something I was interested in noting while I was doing the HnG buddy group so that my watch list accurately reflected what I was watching. I could care less about the effect of "My Life on Anime".

Well, I guess some people want to their 'life spent on anime' to be as literal as possible... I don't really care about that myself, but there have to be people out there thinking "wtf I've watched dbz and naruto like 8 times each but this thing says I've only spent one week on anime??" Odds are that the majority of those asking for it are asking because of the time bar, so if the feature were put in without adding to the time bar they'd just come back and raise a fuss all over again.

p.s. welcome back vivi ^_^

So true.

But there should be some way for people to see the actual time people spend on anime, not including the 7 times they've claimed to have seen Sailor Moon.
And there should probably be an option for signatures to show the 'old' or 'new' life on anime.

I'm for marking things rewatched. That's cool. But I'm not for adding time on the bar.

Perhaps there's a way to display both unique time and total time? Or would that completely break the system? >.>;

Well, Guess it was inevitable. Still, though, its going to end up opening pandoras box. And as I have friends who have watched StarTrek 12 times through (sadly, Im not kidding), I know that we are going to end up with people who have watched Haruhi 18 times and nothing else in here touting their superiority.
