lotherius- You could replace your hosts file method with a PAC (proxy auto-config) file. It works in a similar manner, except that you set it per-browser/program, the same way you would a proxy. Thus you could set most of your internet programs to use it & leave your browser without. Another advantage of PAC over HOSTS is that a PAC file can take wildcards, so you can block a dozen ad sites with a single entry instead of having to have a dozen seperate entries.
Alternatively, you could install an ad blocking proxy program, which would give you the option of whitelisting ads on a-p while blocking the same ads on other sites.

I've immediately turned my ABP off after hearing about this.
I wonder what's percentage of users who block their ads.

Alas, my popup blocker now has an exception.

thank you, it's appreciated! (though AP shouldn't have popups). it's very helpful for people to turn off adblock for the site, besides donations (which almost no one does each month), ads are the only way we can support the site and keep working on it

A question regarding ads on the site:

Is it possible to ban/block certain ads, without blocking all of them? I'm really fucking sick of the Twilight Saga ads.

It depends. If the ad images have something unique in their URLs (such as "twilight.jpg"), then you can block that, without blocking any other ads from the same source.

I tried right-clicking and finding the source for the pictures and got something like this:

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com...65749340270147

but after adding the filter i still get this:

I would really love a no-twilight-ads fix if available :3
