Why should I turn my ad blockers off for Anime-Planet?

i think i may have experienced my first popunder ad yesterday on absoluteanime - it looked like a footer on the bottom of the screen that didn't move and i couldn't get rid of it.

holy hell was that annoying.

After reading this thread i decided to turn off all my ad blockers for this site because i love this site so much. The only problem is, now it takes at least 3 times longer to load each page and it lags when i scroll down. another thing is that i am noticing that it is even lagging right now as i am typing (i will type a few words before the text actually appears on my screen). I think i will leave the ad block off because it is the right thing to do, but i will mention that you people are really mean for using such bloated animated ads on your site, then expecting people not to block them.

the ads that get posted are from an ad network - i don't personally choose them. i also don't experience that huge of a lag with the ads displaying, perhaps you are running torrents or something at the same time?

the fact of the matter is, ads are almost always animated nowadays... that's the norm, not the edge case.

If your typing is lagging, I doubt that's the ads. I don't experience lag at all and I'll stealing my interweb from two houses away.

I am not torrenting, the thing is that internet connection would not cause lag in the case of letters taking a long time to show up. the problem is that my CPU can not handle the ads, even things like animated emoticons mess up and lag due to this. The reason why i am having troubles and you people are not is because my computer is not that good and has trouble with the bloated ads this site uses. (some sites work fine with ads, but these ones are too much)

I think the magenta font is your real problem. It hurts your GPU so it has to work with its eyes closed.

And, if your internet connection is bad enough, the words can make you lag. (Like 56k internet connection>.>)

i dont think it is my internet connection because i can load some sites instantaneously, but now it takes over 10 seconds to load a page on this site because i added this site to the exceptions list of my ad bockers
