i assume looks so i just updated it ^^
also fixed shinobuden. as far as hantsuki, it's in there as a searchable title, but not one that shows up in the alpha list. this is because i dont want to clutter it with a billion titles, so if there are two titles that would show up on the same page close together, i generally only put up either the official title or the really well known one (depends on the circumstance) ^^ |

"Angel Tales" Quote:
primary title [secondary titles] I'd think that the latter statement about entry similarity confusion no longer applies as the primary title and all secondary titles are returned as a singular entry. With that consideration, I'd recommend that such "alternate titles" are appended to the secondary title list, regardless of similarity to the primary title, so long as they are returned in the same entry. For the anime mentioned by the OP, the search result would return: Angel Tales [aka Tenshi no Shippo, Angel Tails] which I don't think poses any confusion, and has the benefit of returning a result for the actual translation of the R2 title. I'm not aware of the other anime mentioned that also share this problem, but I think this could be implemented for all of them now that the search results return both primary and secondary titles as a singular entry. as i am too braindead right now to understand the above, i'll explain a bit more:
in the alpha list specifically, only three (MAYBE 4) titles are listed: official R1, official R2, well known alternate. sometimes a 2nd well known alternate but only if they are on separate letter pages. two titles that are next to each other in a list will never show up. so for example, Azusa, Otetsudaishimasu! and Azusa Will Help would never both show up, as they'd be right next to each other. instead, i choose one to show up. in the entries, only these are displayed as alt titles as well. HOWEVER, the search is different. "marimite" is not R1/R2/well known alternate in the database, but it's what i call a searchable title. if you search for marimite, itll show up as an alternate title specifically because you searched for it, and i want people to understand why a result shows up. listing all searchable titles in an anirec entry would be a major disaster, as i like to try to put many variations as searchable so people can find what they are looking for (as i dont want to implement google search and certainly can't write my own smart search algorithm at this point in time). notice what happens if you search for "ghost in the shell": Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig [aka Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG, Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex 2nd gig, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Second Gig, Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex 2nd Gig] having all of these in the anirec entries would be nightmarish, so i try to hide all but the important ones (unless called out in the search) in the anirec entries. that being said if angel tails and such aren't working correctly, i just need to add those to the searchable titles ^_^ does that help clarify? i'm so braindead from all this coding recently :( Last edited by Ketsuron; 07-19-2007 at 08:17 AM. |

Please don't use quick reply in this thread for new reports. Instead use "go advanced" and edit the title. You use quick reply if you directly address the reported feature. It's already not easy to see what was fixed and what not. PS.: Devil Hunter Yohko Episode Count and sola ep count reports moved to Anirec: Episode Counts-thread Last edited by Ketsuron; 07-19-2007 at 08:00 AM. |

huh? why was my stuff edited?
i really don't think that people reading a post about angel tales and then a response by me about angel tales 1 post later would not be able to deduce that i'm talking about the angel tales discussion, regardless of what the "re:" title says. o_o |
