For those who said that having only a positive aspect to a rating system would be "misleading", the fact is none of what is written by users is formal or academic or, dare i say, important in any way. It doesn't matter if the blog uses horrible Engrish grammar or lack of punctuation, if someone likes it then it will show up in a positive manner and encourage others to also check it out regardless of its formality. Please excuse me for using a real example here on this site. When you click the "recent blogs" button in the "users" section, how long does it take you to find a blog that is enjoyable to read...nay...that is even worth reading? I for one love reading tid bits of others lives, but there are only so many one-liner blogs i can go through before i get tired of searching. I even wrote a blog (yeah its a link) about the blogs on this site. All i am saying is that a system that shows if people like a certain blog would help interested users find something nice, while encouraging writers to put in more effort |

I'd say, well... everyone's account includes a blog that's theirs and theirs alone, so they're free to use it as they wish. Can't force people to write longer stuff, and shouldn't either, really. Just found the blog directory, myself, and so far just looking at the entry's title has been a pretty good pointer on what it'll be about, the more in-depth ones use personal titles. And Drahken said pretty much everything there is to say about votes, both positive and negative.
Well, it'd be interesting to see what people think of each other, but... nah, I like this place better without any competition. Anyone who specifically wants quality at blogs can write their own, comment on other good ones' posts and give a good example, I doubt anyone who doesn't have that inclination already would change their mind just to get likes. Or, should someone do just that, it'd probably be something carefully planned to get the max amount of likes, not something they necessarily... well... like writing about. |

*Beggining of user review* Watched through this as a nostalgia bomb. I loved this show as a kid. This short review brought to you by The Moonsidekid! *End of user review* Seriously??? A review that consists of 2 lines of text? Could have at least said something about the show. This passes as a blog (horrible blog but blog nonetheless) but this does not pass as a review. In review shouldn't the reviewer like, I dunno, review something? Review as in look back at the show and shares impressions, good and bad things etc? I mean if not blog ratings then at least consider user review ratings... The most polite thing I could say about review above is 'unhelpful' or 'uninformative' but that's me REALLY trying to be polite.

right now i'm working on getting a really big update up in a matter of weeks, so i dont have time to give thorough decisions on each new request that comes in in a timely fashion. if something is denied it'll be marked as such, otherwise it's still open till that happens :)
