Default [QUESTION] Relations

I would like check if there are any new additions (prequel, sequel, dvd special etc) to anime I already watched but without checking every title in my watched list one by one. Is there on AP any tool that will allow me easy "Relations" check of my already watched anime?

Not currently, although you could request that such a feature be added.

I don't recall seeing anything like that of the sort, but that would be awesome! Just imagine a one button press that gives you a list of everything that's been updated in the series you've watched! I reckon that if this isn't already implemented somehow you should request this! It sounds like a great way to check if you're missing something!

Not that I can think of. Even when I was on MAL, that was always a pain in the butt. Because having to go through everything takes forever. My recommendation is that when you finish a series check the relations since the (good) ones usually have a page put up sooner (unless announced much later). Because Picture Dramas there are always a debate on whether or not they are going to get subbed.

On that point though, when I had to do it on MAL, I had to 1: Find Specials, 2) Find if they were subbed, 3) Find the subbed version. If there is an entry here that means a subbed version exists in some form for the specials. I don't know how many hours I wasted looking for things that didn't exist.

The easy way at present to do this would probably be to monitor the "recently added anime" page once a day or so. It won't tell you from there which ones might be related to ones you've watched, but you can often tell by the name, plus you can go to the entry's page from there & see.
The benefit of this method is that 1) it's all in one place and 2) there aren't too many anime added at a time (usually between 2~10 per day, yet it often goes for several days without any).
The disadvantage is that it won't tell you if a series already on the site has recently been marked as related to another series already on the site.

Nonetheless, it's probably your best bet. You can find the link on the /anime page near the top under "newest anime"->"see all recent anime".
Here's a direct link: Recently Added Anime - Anime-Planet

oh it's something i want to do for sure, id liek for there to be a 'subscribe' type button where you can subscribe to an anime, and get a notification when something new has been added that's related.

the logic of how this would be built is tricky, though. ie, if a mod accidentally deletes a relation and then readds, do you get notified that something new was added? if something that's a spinoff of a lot of series is added, do you get notified? lots of things to think through.

I think that the default should be yes. Meaning that if something changes get a notification. And then maybe allow customization on what kind of notifications are received (anime/manga, spinoff, special, sequel). Just ideas.
