Default [request]Aggregated recommendations

Since this is rather close to the [frequently denied] list, I'm going to say that I have read those, this is not what is being denied there, and ask that you at least read what it's not. The one suggestion that I saw like this was denied because the author didn't describe it well enough in the first post, and it was denied for being something it wasn't. While he clarified it, there were no responses after that. Also, it was from about two years ago.

This request is not for an automated "these people liked X and Y; you liked X, therefore you will like Y" system. It is not just numbers, and is still the full user recommendations that this site is great for.

Why can't I see the sum of the recommendations for everything I have liked? As it stands, I have to go though my 'watched' list, open a few dozen tabs, and look at the 'unmarked' recommendations. This is grossly inefficient, both in terms of my time and server-load. So, why not have a page that is the sum of all recommendations for unwatched anime, for all watched anime?

Yes, I'm aware we're not supposed to say "it would be so easy", but I'm going to anyway. It adds nothing new to the core of the site, and uses nothing new in the database. Unless your DB makes no sense at all (given how well the site runs, I'm willing to bet it's not), this feature is roughly 98% copy and paste from the existing recommendations part--just have to change the WHERE clause of the recommendations selection from picking the single id to picking everything IN a subquery of that user's watched list. Bonus points if that subquery is limited by the user's rating, but it's not necessary.

To clarify about the somewhat aggressive writing style-- I'm not demanding this feature.. I'd just like an explanation of why it's rejected.

just sayin, i pretty much immediately have no interest in answering someone when they take the time to tell me how 'easy' something is. i'm not giving any new information though given the line in bold.

I'm sorry, I'm used to the first step of convincing someone they should do something for me being convincing them that it's not too much effort. When you write how new features have a tendency to cost from the hundreds to the thousands of dollars due to the hourly rate of hiring a decent web dev, you can see why it would be rather tempting to say "so this shouldn't take very many hours".

Granted, it was stated to not do that. I'd still appreciate an explanation though.

Sounds interesting. If the feature allows for easier manipulation of info that already exists on the site, hopefully it is on the 'to do' list. I'd also be interested in this.

I wouldn't say that it's "easy". I've messed with minor web programing and minor computer programming. Even if data already exists, reorganizing something is only "easy" if it is awful. I've seen sites a new feature or do something "easy", but it overloaded the server and killed site functionality because the feature killed the server load.

That said, based on my knowledge, I think that this is a possible thing, I'm not sothis or the site programer though so this is no for sure it can be done. Nothing will be added if it sacrifices a little bit of site functionality just for one feature. Other than that though this is not something that will happen in the near future probably as big projects are being worked on.

Sothis can delete the following if I'm not suppose to say this: But if you were around ~2 months or so ago the User Activity features on main site page and profiles were taken done and are being totally reworked as part of a big project.
