yeah.

(sorry for the short answer, but that's how it is :P I think AJ used a program by pinnacle or so, but as they're dead, they don't matter any more. Every group I know that does flashy effects/logos does it with AE (Keep, Soldats, Triad, Ayu, Aone, probably some more)

The Fansub Quality Discussion forum is for discussion of the quality of particular fansubs, not for asking technical questions about fansubbing. Moving this to the FAQ/Tutorials forum.

AJ used Vegas Video. Everyone else that I know of uses Adobe. Sorry, I can't go any deeper into it, as I only know basic typesetting.

You ppl forgot to mention Adobe Pshop and Illus... without them, AE lost 1/2 power.

AE fansub users should feel lucky because anime studios are currently lazy. Those effects they use for logos and titles are mostly repetitive and simple to replicate. I hope there'll be more complex ones to see how fansubbers actually deal with them =p

The best ones I've seen recently were:

Chrno Crusade (Chrono-gen)
My-hime (Static-Subs)
Bleach (ANBU/Keep)
Kannazuki no Miko (Static-Subs)

Yes TNM would be right, AE is nothing with out other supporting programs; for me that would be Photoshop and Illustrator. Usually the process I go through is to first Evaluate if I can do the sfx, If I can't I'll pass it to DeathWolf of BlueSonicWave since they are "crazy". If I can then it's just a process of duplicating the logo or whatever and animating it (changing position, adding various filters etc.) Once this is complete then I render the animation I made usually outputting it as RGBA. From there I either use layer or overlay function in AVS to slap it on the raw ^^; Again it's kinda of an intensive process it takes a bit to get used to it, but its certainly a god send... SSA is EVIL EVIL for complex stuff.

BTW watch DeathWolf's Mai Hime logo he sooo ownz me. If you wanna see something pretty... I remember TNM doing some crazy 3d animation for AonE's Mezzo DSA. It was AonE rotating 3d logo that matched the one in the raw perfectly... made me wet my pantsu =p
