I am so so confused.

I'm a total newby. I've created an account but how do I actually view anime? Is this a website where you can view anime or just discuss it. I've looked for about 30 minutes and I'm totally confused about how this site works.

You can't actually stream anime here. You can read summaries, recommendations, and reviews about that anime, but here at A-P, everything is 100% info.

They have ads posted on the top or side where you can watch anime streams.

There's also a bunch of anime posted on Youtube. Uh... legitimate postings, that is...

You can also dig around Hulu, they have some stuff.

Yea, I posted the links not even thinking about it. Since they were legitimate videos posted by the companies themselves, I didn't think it was a big deal. It just so happens that I read the rules FAQ right after posting and decided it probably would be better to ask a mod first if stuff like that was ok.

IF they're legitimate I think it'd actually be OK to post them, but I agree that it would be best to consult a mod with these borderline cases.

Unless it says something about it in the FAQ, was some time since I read it so I don't remember if there is anything about it.
