Geocities sites

As some of you might already know yahoo will soon (october 26 2009) shut down geocities sites.

However there exists some teams trying to save sites. A useful tool to make backups yourself is HTTrack.

So the big question: know of interesting geocities sites? I'll start with two links:

According to the email notification I got at the beginning of the month, the cutoff date is oct 26th (ie, tomorrow).

Back when I started on the web I used to find a lot of useful sites on geocities, but I haven't seen a useful site on geocities in several years. On top of that, the formerly useful sites haven't been updated in about 10yrs or so.




I wonder just what (if anything) yahoo is going to be of any use for from this point on? They no longer have hosting (not free anyway, and I seriously doubt that many people will say "oh, sure I'll pay you for the same service I've been using for free since before geocities sold out to you money-grubbing mongrels"), their search engine is now just a frontend for bing, and it seems like there was another service or two that they dumped but that I'm brainfarting on now.
I think all that they have left is their email service.

Bummer (that noone provided interesting sites and) that certain sites were now gone.
