100% quality of DVD original that includes menus and features, everything, all on one dvd, exact copy in other words.
requires: DVD burnner (hardware) DVD decrypter - get at doom9.org or jus search for it. DVD2One - fairly easy to get tirial or find hacks for it.. 1st instal all software listed. then insert the dvd you wish to back up, right click and select decript using dvd decripter. when dvd decripter is open look to the side and you will find a list of vob files some selected most not. those that are already selected are the movie and stream info that you would use if you were just going to rip the video vobs and encode it to a compressed version. well.. we want EVERYTHING on that side selected. to do this hold down on shift key and click the files listed and scrool down to make sure you got them all.... also scroll up... just make sure. then select a location on your HD and hit decript/ok after that open up DVD2one. select the language you wish to contiune with, then make sure "start screen" is splash screen, after that click next. select your route to the ripped video files in "source". example "E:\im a happy donut\VIDEO_TS" then select an empty folder in "destination" for your compressed dvd. make sure DVD +/- (W) is selected "copy mode" set to full disk. "compression mode" - variable ratio hit next, and select your audio files you want.. a hint.. just select the ones you will use.. this will save space... then hit next and wait about 30 mins.. depending on speed. after that go to that, open your burning program and burn as data your compressed files.. but a note, you first have to create a folder on your DVD project called "VIDEO_TS" open that folder and add in the files from your destination folder... make sure you dont add your destination folder.. but add the files within the folder.. burn it as data and your done.. you got a 100% quality back-up, and you will never have to worry about loosing your original.

no it dosen't encode them but it does something different somehow. If you select data DVD "project" and drag the Video_TS folder over it won't play, if you choose video DVD "project" and drag the files int he vts folder into the one it creates and burn it it'll play fine. It only applies to V6 of nero, V5 you burn it as a plain data DVD and it works.

hmm well that is good to know, that for some reason seems odd.. i just wonder why it makes you do it that way, and not work with data, does it add compression to the files when you add it as data i wonder.
