Default Editing One Piece episodes with VirtualDub or something

I would kinda like to edit One piece and cut out all the redundant openig and recap and endings and string maybe 5 eps together into one file. just one opening, 5 eps, then the one ending.

Any idea how much time and effort would be reqiured to do this? it'd be nice to have it in a much tinier filesize since lately there's 5-6 minutes of opening/story summary/recap at the beginning of EVERY ep.

0)Download and install mkvtoolnix
1)Write down the timecodes (ie, where you want to cut the episode)
2)Use mkvmerge to split the files (splitting is in the "global" tag if you use mkvmergeGUI)
3) Use mkvmerge to append the files you want
4) Delete the parts you cut out and the other now redundant files.

You can probably write a script to automate the process if you want to.

I second the MKV suggestion. In addition, you may want to check out mencoder.

Furthermore, if you're main concern is filesize, I'd recommend keeping the OP/ED separate, but instead of adding them to every n files, I'd use a playlist, such that you could view them as often (or as infrequently) as you'd like merely by changing your playlist / arguments.

Talking Re: Editing episodes with VirtualDub or something

okay, so has anyone that's seen/is watching one piece want to help me think of bits to cut out, apart from openings, introductions (The "show so far" things), endings, previews, and flashbacks to things that happened only a few eps previous?
I definitely think the Warship island/thousand year dragon thing has to get cut.

I'm wondering if it isn't worth cutting a few eps of the "wandering in the desert" eps of the Alabasta arc. though I think the bit where they fall into the underground ruin was kinda important cuz the thing there is important to events later on, sorta.

Anyone wanna volunteer to watch it or at least skim through the episodes and make some suggestions for me?

Also, if I do em as MKV I can put in some chapter breaky things right?

Yes, you can do chapters with mkv. No, I'm not going to watch that shit :)

aw c'mon, its great apart from the dragon thingy filler right before they head for the grand line. Its better than bleach or naruto by a long shot, and has a lot of really great characters. Have you watched any? You gotta watch at least the first 3-4 eps to make a fair judgement of it.

At this point since I've changed the subject, it almost belongs in the anime discussion category, doesn't it?
Anyone agree?
Any way to change the header that's listed?
