[REQUEST] archive of friend's anime/manga update

Since we're only able to see 10 updates of watched/watching/read/reading/rated anime/manga of our friends why not add more? up to 5-10 pages and the old information will be deleted.

Can you also add filter? Where we can only see a particular friend's update?

[BUG] Ignore function not working

I just discovered there was an "ignore" function, but when I clicked on "Edit Ignore List," the following appeared:

As someone thought "11 eyes" weren't in the db, i looked it up and found that the search terms "11" and "eyes" will return as result 11eyes, but "11 eyes" (with a space) won't.

On the contrary, a space within the 3x3 eyes search term will return the 3x3 eyes entry (be it the search terms "3x", "3x3"or "3x3 eyes"), Eyeshield 21 doesn't have that problem either.

AP Sigs - What Am I Doing Wrong?

I've been trying to create sigs using the custom image option on the main site. But whenever I upload a high-quality JPG the site makes the quality HORRIBLE. :nervous: Figured I'd use lossless compression instead, and tried with PNG format, but couldn't get it down to the 50kb limit. So I tried GIF, which made it look pretty bad with 256 colours, but no difference. The resulting image still looked like it had JPG quality 1 (worst possible) or something. And yet I'm seeing many people here with AP sigs that look just fine. What could I possibly be doing wrong here? :confused:

I believe this was something planned to be made with v3, but since I haven't seen anything about it ever since, I figured I could create a new suggestion / request thread about it.

Since I've been talking to some newcomers on A-P lately, I've been getting a lot of questions about how the site works, and those questions are often very similar (how do I create an anime / manga list, how do i fill up my "life spend on anime" bar, how do I watch anime on this site).

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have a simple FAQ linked to the main page (or the footer) to explain these standard questions? It would probably have a positive effect on the amount of people who actually use their account as well, as currently a lot of people create their account and just leave it empty (mostly for other reasons obviously, but still).

I'd be willing to write the FAQ myself if no one started one already (again, as I believe this has been talked about before).

[REQUEST] Search list "watched status" drop-down menu

In other words, if I search Di Gi Charat, it comes up with a list of various parts of the franchise. What it lacks, however, is the option to quickly mark each part as "Want to Watch" or "Won't Watch" without going to the page of each individual anime result. As such, I would like to request the addition of drop-down menus to change the status of results on the search results page.

[bug] Forum links break

This seems to be the fault of vBSEO, but I'm not their customer, so I can only hope that AP will forward the bug report.

In the top right of every forum post are two links, one behind the number as pertaining to the thread, and one titled permalink. The latter is in no way permanent!

It contains a page number, which depends on the user setting for how many posts to display. As I don't use the default value, and most people probably do, all links to other posts I made on the forum are broken for them, and any links they made won't work for me. Awesome.

The first link does not seem to have that problem...

[BUG] Posts are called blogs

The site seems to use the word "blog" to mean post or article, as in "recent blog" or the number of "blogs" a user has posted. You can't just redefine a term that's made it into the dictionaries years ago.

[REQUEST] - Turn off email alerts for me if possible

Since I'm leaving, I'd much rather email alerts for profile and review comments didn't continue spamming my address while I'm away. I get quite a few on a regular basis and continually getting some will probably get irritating.

If it is at all possible, could you please switch off the email alerts for my account? Thank you.

The friends section on my profile page neglects to mention when they updated their blog. I'm much more interested in new posts than what they set Watching ^^

Yes, the homepage of the website. Just looking at it, it just seems a little awkward. I don't know what thought processes were implemented into its design, which means I don't everything there is to know about it, but it just seems a little awkward in some places.

That box at the top of the page with "Random Anime", "Random Review", and "Newest Anime". The random/random/new set-up in that makes it feel like the newest anime (which to me is the important one) is the odd-man out.

The further on down the page you can see the "Newest Manga" and "Random Manga" sections just kinda chillin out of the way. Almost like they were slapped on there to fill in space. I find further reason to believe this as there's no "see all recent manga" link like there is with anime.

So my suggestion? Get rid of the randoms in the box at the top and Put "Newest Manga" in there. (As well as give it a "see all recent link".) Granted, this still leaves the third spot open. Personally, I thought the "Newest User" section was a nice touch to the homepage, even just for aesthetics.

Anyway, this is just me and purely my suggestions. But I really would like it if you took them into consideration.

[REQUEST] Percentage of life on anime

I was thinking, since we already have a 'My life spent on anime' count and you ask for birthdays and years/full ages... why not add to that a percentage of time spent?

I thought about this since I was explaining to a friend and realized I wasn't sure how many days were part of the listed 'month' or else I'd have calculated for myself... I suppose that's another question, how many days are in your month? (28? since 4 weeks= month typically but 1 week = 7 days)

[REQUEST] Average Rating

I think it would be very useful if you could see the average rating of every anime. I know that this already exists, but only when you go the 'genre categories'-page. Considering that some animes don't have a genre yet, it would be impossible to see what the average rating of that anime is.
(Please correct me if I'm wrong about this)

So I would like it if the average rating was also desplayed next to the animes in your anime list.
And for example, I would also like it if the average rating of the animes were displayed in the anime recommendation-section. I'm talking about that page you go too when you click on an anime, and you get a summary of that anime, and below that are all the recommendations of that anime (you know what page i'm talking about, right? :)). The avg. rating of the anime could be displayed next to the summary or something.
I've noticed the rank # , but just the avg. rating would be better in my opinion.

The reason i would like this is because it makes it a lot easier for people to see what others thought about that anime. It helps me a lot when I'm deciding what anime to watch next.
