My wife just got me advanced birthday present and got me Space Hulk anniversary edition. I am so excited that I may even try painting the models!

Anyone here plays space hulk? I played only Amiga computer game, but ever since I had the bug.

I only briefly was introduced to 40k, I always wanted to get into it, but lacked the funds for the sets of models to make it truly fun.
I remember some marvelous set ups though.

A while back, I would be over playing a hex game of Russian Front, while these guys next too me would pull out these awesome boards and models. Looked pretty sweet. I was envious.
If you do paint some up, you'll have to grab some pics.

I also always wanted to get into WH40K but the prices are killer. The board game is expensive too, but hell! It is 20th anniversary and they released short batch only. It was sold out on GW page three days before release. They say that they plan next edition on 50th anniversary :D But that's probably just load of bull. The models were remade, so was the board and artwork. Too big investment to end in one short release.

And concerning the pics - it will be rather shameful event, since I never painted anything but my room before. I will make sure to take some pics for next generations as a warning though :-)

My brother had the Space Hulk board came when we were quite little. I remember really liking the look of it and often wanted to play it, but I'm not sure if he/we ever played a single game. I think when I was about 10 we got the Warhammer box game too, similarly I always wanted to play it, but he wouldn't once play with me, and I never have (didn't quite understand the rules myself at whatever age I was). The interest couldn't last that long though, the price was prohibitive and nerdiness too much for me. I still have quite a few game codexes somewhere, though.

Your wife is a good gal, if she was able to get her hands on it for you, being that it sold out.
Someone knows you too well.

My younger brother got Bretonia army once. He fiddled with it for few months, tried painting it (paint is super expensive!) and then sold it for fraction of market price. I doubt he ever played it. Can't imagine why some would have an army and never use it.
