I'm reading it in Dutch actually; it doesn't happen that often that international books get a Dutch translation before an English one, does it?
Personally, I didn't enjoy it as much as some of his other works, but it's still quite enjoyable. (ha, I see you've read 'Hardboiled Wonderland'; that's definitely my favourite!)

The Hardboiled Wonderland is definitely my favourite too (I actually found out about it on AP when Funkgun recommended it in the Haibane Renmei thread) Second favourite would probably be the Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

And yeah, I am currently reading 1Q84's book 2 and its not as good as some of the others, but still as you said pretty enjoyable.

I realised that I read something like thirty-five books in five months, without planning on specifically reading a lot... But I've run out of actual books that fit all three criteria of "readily available", "interesting" and "written in English so won't take me ages to read".
