Ok, this game is amazing. Seriously, such a small part of the entire game, and it took so long. That entire quest was like the entire plot of a game. The amount of detail, the beautiful zones, the puzzles, and all the riddles. I had to stop playing just to come over here a gush about this game. Really, an amazing game.

And wtf is with the DLC, you have to pay for it? Screw that.
I haven't even been to that side of the world yet, I went for the tower and dwarves first.

I just finished the tower, so I have Redcliffe and the tower. Gonna try the Elves next, I'm assuming I have to see if I can get to them in Denerin, or maybe the forest somewhere. Btw, were are the Dwarves?

Also, the tower quest was long as shit lol. Spent like 30 minutes clearing to the top (Don't forget to pick up the Black Grimoire (it's for Morrigan, it's her quest gift, gives you big props and sets up a chain to possibly kill Flemith (don't try fighting her yet lol, she shape shifts into a dragon and whoops your ass *note to self, sleep with Liliana next lol*)), and then when you get up there you have to run around in dreams for nearly 2 hours, and then when thats done, you still got 30 minutes of questing. Not that long is bad, that quest was just getting... stale. I'm just comparing it to the urn/ashes quest, which imo was so much cooler.

Yah the Story of the DLC is interesting.Apparently the game has been done for 6 months now and they were doing the way everything should be done like bioware always dose, they were porting it over to the consoles after the Pc copy was made, so the hole team dosent work on the port so make a DLC, The Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep. There just some extra quests.

i have nothing so far...

either way, i have been playing insane the whole game and never encountered bigger problems (one casualty every hour or so, admittedly, i have omitted some of the optional high level fights, i just cant face orange revenants yet.

oh yeah, forcefield is awesome, kinda like olilukes resilient sphere.

and now i just met some orange arcane horror, the most annoying thing about him is that if you get close to him, he teleports to another point, oh and he has minions, that only get activated if you get near him...arghghg

he appears beneath the dalish ruins
anyone got some tips on how to beat him?

put him into a forcefield once, he still teleports if you come near, seems hardcoded.

hmm, maybe i should interrupt the dalish ruins and try to save redcliff and do the circle of magi...afterwards i ll be plenty stronger.

Ah, Gin, I know that fight. What is your party layout? I myself am a two hander warrio, I also have Alistair tanking, Morrigan as cc/dps, and Wynne healing.

So far I have done Redcliffe, Circle of mages, Elves, and am almost done the dwarves (I hope), and so far, the Elves are the easiest, the dwarves being the mot annoying, by far, and by easiest I mean quick. Pretty much after that fight, your done. There is a little bit of talking (Parley when you get the chance), and I guess if you choose the route I did, theres a final fight, but it's easy.

The fight your stuck on is pretty simple. When you run into the square, he teleports and summons about 2 mobs. Pretty much keep stocked up on potions, if you have Wynne healing, make sure she has constant mana (she runs outta mana like a mofo), and have all range on the boss. All melee is dpsing the adds without going into the square. Try and lock the boss down as much as possible, keep him frozen.

I had a healer (just read you havent done the tower, so you don't have one), so I just focused on the boss, I let him scramble around, he stops at 4 teleports I believe. Once he was down I just aoed everything with Morrigan.

If your still stuck, you could just try putting your group on stay, and just have range dps him, so you don't even have to worry about melee running in. If you are stuck and can't get past no matter what, lower the difficulty for that fight alone. I really wouldn't suggest going and starting a different race, because you are almost there, there's like no more killing after that part.

I had to put the dwarves on hold. Jarvia was giving me problems. And Flemeth raped me so I haven't even attempted going back to her yet Right now, well, once I get home from work, I'll be in the Eastern Dalish woods to fight the hermit

Just did Jarvia, I'm on the next step, and for some reason, the dark spawn over at the dwarves are way harder than any others.

You don't have to fight the hermit, you can trade him the book on elvish history you got early for the Acorn. In fact, the only way to fight him is to reach into his stomp and try and steal his shit. he wasn't to hard.

And yeah, I got cocky once I got a healer and was like Flemeth Shmemth, I'll drop her ass. Yeah i got roasted.

You people are fast. Though US got the game a bit earlier. Anyhow, I'm at level 7 atm, and just entered Redcliff Castle.

My party:
Warrior (sword and shield)
Sten (tank)
Leliana (rogue)
Morrigan (mage and romance)

I would've loved to keep the dog, and actually I was reconsidering after seeing how sociable Sten was.

Great game in any case, I've waited for something like BG for a long time and finally it's here!

Ok, I just finished the dwarf quest, what a bitch this one was. Extremely long, very hard and hectic fights. Thats what separates the men from the... non men.

A small little guide to it
three parter quest. First part: Pick a side, I went on the side of the Prince, I do not think they give the same parts, well atleast not for the first two parts.

The Prince has you running around talking to two of the voters and show them the corruption, very easy, a followup has you going into the Dead Road to look for the girls father, you may be able to avoid this with conversation, I didn't really try.

Second part is to kill Jarvia. This part is slightly harder, and longer. It's really a basic dungeon, no real surprises, just don't die and progress through. Jarvia's fight isn't bad at all, all in all, this should be pretty easy.

Third part is the bitch. It has you running around in the Dead roads in search of a Paragon. There will be three total zones you progress through, all increasing in dificulty. Basically for the first two, the paragon will not be in there, don't bother searching the entire zones, just make it to the other side, and travel into the next zone. The last zone will be called the Dead Trenches. here is a map of the zone and trouble spots.

The first red x is a bitch, simply kill each archer one by one with range, stay out of range so you dont aggro them all.

Second x isnt really a trouble spot, but it is an ambush, be ready for it.

The entire boxed area is where the quest gets really good and becomes cool and creepy at the same time, hell I'd even say horror. Don't forget to loot the sarcophagus in ancient dwarf room (you will know what I mean, the one with the spirits that dont attack, they will when you loot the key.)

The boos fight occurs at the end. be prepared, bring lots of pots, especially mana pots. The boss doesnt move, but several tentacles will pop out of the ground. Kill the tentacles, they will pretty much be up untill you down the bitch, they have a lot of health. Twice during the fight she will summon adds. First will be melee, the second with be archers, they are normal mobs and go down quick.

For this fight, I lost morrigan early in the fight, and i rezzed her and she died, so I pretty much kept my warrior on the boss once the tentacles were down, I had the dwarf running around killing the mobs, and kept popping mana pots up for Wynne to heal. I rarely had to pop health pots. This fight is very hectic.

*edit* I forgot a very hard spot, all the way south, the most southern part of the map, there is a forge captain and an alphae, along with several normal mobs. You can skip these guys, they don't really drop anything, but if you do want to kill them, I suggest you do the same tactic I suggested for the first X, simply range and kill a couple of the smaller guys, and try and pull the alpha of range of the forge captain, he hurts

Lastly, there is another zone beyond this, but it's easy. Pretty straight forward.

All in all, the quest took 5+ hours.
