Default CoD: MW2 - Not buying it anymore, Preorder Cancelled.

Well, I found out yesterday that I won't be getting this anymore. I don't own a console, nor will I get one any time soon (probably not for another 3 to 5 years).

The PC version of the game will not have dedicated servers anymore like the prior CoDs which is the main reason I play FPS' to begin with. I prefer looking for a server and finding one I like, not being matched up with a few people and whammo, I'm in a game of "similar" stats players. It really takes the fun away and the challenge of playing against better geared players.

By them leaving that out completely it hurt their sales massively.

I don't think it would matter that much if they lost most, if all of their sales, since I don't think the PC constitute a huge amount of sales for them, also PC piracy is rather high.

To read such , you'd get the impression that PC gamers still think they are the focus of the industry, when that hasn't been true for awhile. Indeed, hardcore gamers in general - and the dedicated PC enthusiast, which is a subset - haven't been the object of their desire for some time. I was under the impression this was well known, but it does require a willingness to perceive factual information, which is not a universal trait among cultists. Maybe if you had just put out, instead of becoming a signatories to a vow of consumer chastity, the old twinkle might return to his eye.

According to the piece, Call of Duty: World at War's three DLC packs digitally pushed 6.5 million units between March and mid-August of 2009 across the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

As you might imagine, those kind of numbers add up to a lot of extra revenue for the mega-publisher – the piece approximates a cool $45 million.
I think their choice to support consoles is obvious.

Then they shouldn't of bothered releasing it for the PC to begin with since nearly all the people who use the PC to play FPS' want the choice of what server to go to.

Not everyone can afford a good TV to go with an expensive console, wish game companies realized this.

The Call of Duty series in general has always been fairly popular on PC. Granted, it got more sales on consoles, but the PC numbers are nothing to scoff at.

Can't argue there. :\

I'm still using my SDTV... I really don't care to be honest. Only reason I select one version over the other is in relation to quality and controls. In the case of most shooters, I usually prefer to use a mouse and keyboard, although there are exceptions, some just naturally work better on consoles because of how they're designed. Call of Duty is definitely not one of them though.

They are not using dedicated servers because they are attempteing something completely different, IWNET.

Modern Warfare 2 For PC

I haven't experienced it yet, I don't know of its performance, but I'm not really worried. And if it sucks anyway, and they can't fix it, then they will just implement dedicated servers.

And from the sound of it, they are putting an awful lot of time and money into the PC version to.

The only thing I'd sign that petition is for a reason no one has mentioned in here. They upped the ****ing price for the PC, from $49.99 to $59.99. Seriously? This isn't the 360 or PS3, I don't want to have to shell out an additional 10 bucks. **** that.

As for FourZeroTwo he well lets not go into the words that could describe him been banned from TL 24/7 Hc Server for Expressing Myself to say the least, but he a console ***.He thinks he knows what we pc players want but He dosent even play a PC game.Hell i know what i want sence UT and Quake and Games of the Sorts.

As for the Price No way in hell i'm buying it at 60 Bucks I'll pass i payed 45 for COD1 When it Came out 50 For Cod2 Also when it came out, payed Another 60 For BF2 and all its Booster Packs. So wyhat gives on the 50 is win! YouTube - Hitler rants about the lack of dedicated servers on Modern Warfare 2

And this is not a port man, they designed the game to play on three separate systems. Infinity Ward has always made great PC games. They have spent so much money on this game, I highly doubt they would trash there reputation on such a high profile game. I mean, its Modern Warfare 2, I don't care what all the whiners are crying about, everyone is bitching and complaining like it's the end of the world, it's not. It's a matchmaking system like in L4D. Nobody bitches about L4D anymore because everyone got used to it. Yeah, they are innovating, it happens occasionally. No reason to commit Sepukku, or just flat out trash the game when you haven't even given it a try.

Btw I don't know if you are really frustrated about this topic Blaze, but I couldn't even understand half of what you are talking about, it's not English.
