The Cyber Slayer Kikokugai . . . and the story of ForsakenPT's avatar

Sigh . . . again!

So, Forsaken's new avatar is Rui Lee/Ruili (depending on the time you first learned her name) from Kikokugai. Kikokugai is another one of those dark Nitroplus VNs, this one probably one of the most like Tsukihime in terms of overall feel. Yet another excellent dark story, this one is a bit more action (kung-fu/cybernetics), though still very atmospheric. This one is an alternate Shanghai where the lead, Kwon Tao Lo (a mafia assassin), is out for vengence after his sister Rui Lee is raped and killed by his friend and his associates.

The avatar is not the real Rui Lee. It is a gynoid (sex doll) owned by one of the 5 villains who are part of Rui Lee's killing. Each has a gynoid which has a part of Rui Lee's personality and is capable of emotions gynoids are not capable of. So Tao Lo takes the gynoid and protects it while hunting down the other villains and the other gynoids, hoping to "resurrect" his sister.

This story is not quite as "deep" as some of Nitroplus' other works, though it is still quite good. Another fairly high production work from Nitroplus, though not as high as Gekkou no Carnevale and Demonbane (these were later and they had more money and technology for these). The ending is somewhat predictable yet quite touching. Excellent read. Highly recommend.
